UTSA has been playing D1 level football for 2 months. 

If UTSA had been playing D1 football for decades, was part of an AQ conference and was on ESPN regularly, you'd have a point . . . but they haven't been anything like that, so, you don't have a point.

Your argument is that we should take Cincy because we might be able to get a few hundred thousand viewers out of a viewing area of 2.3 mil for a school whose crowning achievement is making an Orange Bowl. The same Orange Bowl we all make fun of here. Of course Texas State and UTSA aren't of the same caliber as Cincy, but of course that's not the point.

The point is we'd be taking a Texas State or UTSA on steroids and with good basketball, except in another state. What's the point of expanding to 12 if you take small-time schools like that? This is the Big 12, we have big state universities and powerful private ones, and there's no point in diluting that brand just for a championship game.

I'll have to check with my ITK folks, but I believe Louisville already has plans and is just waiting for the right time to expand their stadium

Hopefully they'll expand the concourses to help accommodate all the visiting fans from other Big 12 schools who will now line up at halftime to buy some of Louisville's own Home-Cooked Diarrhea Sandwiches and Diarrhea Pizzas (because they are a garbage school).

Would you guys rather have TCU or Lousiville?  When we grabbed TCU, I think conference leadership assumed that the Big East would still be around, and thus threat (albeit a minor one).

In retrospect, I really wish we would have not brought in TCU and grabbed Louisville.

I like TCU because it gives us 2 games in Texas every year. I think that's a bigger plus than Ohio Valley TV's. Who knows, though.

It has no bearing in the upcoming 4-team playoff.  None. Zip. Zero.

The Big 12 Champion will have played 12 games.

The SEC (or Big 10 or Pac 12) champion will have played 13 games.  And that 13th game is virtually guaranteed to be against a highly ranked opponent, giving the champion an important SOS boost right at the end of the year.

How long will it be before that comes back to bite us in the ass?
