Hey great, the new "playoff" still renders most of the bowls even the "majors" utterly meaningless unless it's their year to host a semi-final.
They could come up with a process that makes all the major bowls meaningful football games.
The Sugar and Fiesta could be completely effed in the "bidding process" . . . which wouldn't bother me that much, it just basically re-affirms that a playoff system that will generate additional millions every year well above the cumulative bowl payouts is the way to go and select bowls should be incorporated into that process.
The new system is just slightly less dumbass than the old one.
Or . . .
As has been said, just bag the whole things, go back to the traditional tie-ins, have no "playoff" and let everybody argue about it all year.
