More pie-in-the-sky SEC TV $$$...

Quote
Neal Pilson, the former president of CBS Sports, is a consultant who helped negotiate recent multibillion dollar deals for NASCAR and the Olympics. He said the fact that the SEC is just two years into a 15-year contract with its TV partners means it has little leverage.

Can't believe that there isn't any news today.    Someone's holding out.

That's some hard work DeArmond put in.  "Hearing" that next public statements could come at the next regularly scheduled BOC meeting?

Scotchy then followed that up with this great PI work.

Zach, there are a lot of possibilities and right now I'm not going to speculate on anything as far away as next week.

I think they're finally coming to the realization that they don't have an offer, and there haven't been A&M like discussions with the SEC.

Reports that the Big East is going after Boise State.  Would love for the Big East to add Boise, BYU and San Diego State just to put the finishing touches on the absurdity that is conference realignment.

I guess we'll find out tomorrow if true or not.  :dunno:.  This is from the West Virginia message board btw.

I believe Luck is WV AD.  Surely the Pres or Chancelor would be doing the accepting.  :dunno:

1. The SEC presidents will decide which school to invite as the league’s 14th member. Athletic administrators, I am told, don’t want Missouri because of the travel to Columbia. For instance, it’s 1,000 miles from there to Gainesville, Fla., nearly 300 miles longer than any of the Gators’ other road trips. Add the remote nature of so many SEC campuses, and travel of non-revenue teams will incur a sharp increase in either time (commercial travel through Atlanta) or money ($30,000 charter flights).

You have to consider the fact that if they were to get an SEC invite, it would be in the East so as not to upset Bama.  But, apparently, it would upset everyone else in the East.

Another article on Big East raising exit fees.  Interesting tidbit:
Quote
The report also includes a detail that Louisville may decline to participate in the call. The Cardinals have been the most realistic defector of the remaining six, as they have targeted as a potential replacement for MIssouri should the Tigers leave the Big 12. Louisville's vote is not needed to issue a change in the withdrawal fees, Big East bylaws require just a 75 percent vote for approval.

Pretty much stating what we already know ... but this "pressure" should be good (That is If you want Mizz to stay in Big 12).

MU is all fringe-y and stuff.  They can be like Poland for the SEC's USSR.

Keeping Big 12 competition in or near Kansas City makes sense — for you, your fans and the state of Missouri. The Big 12 Basketball Championships at Sprint Center and Municipal Auditorium are prime examples. The Championship is an important economic engine for our region, generating more than $14 million a year, and scheduled to remain in this state through 2014. It is imperative for that money should remain in the Show-Me State.

Your move, Governor Nixon.

MU is going to sit on their ass while the BE finds a way to keep schools.  If MU fucks our confy out of some BE schools by doing what they are, I hope Schulzy and co find a way to keep make the SEC drop their invite.

Adding 5 shitty mid-majors (Boise included) isn't going to preclude the Big XII from adding schools like Louisville or West Virginia if we want to.

Texas Christian University coach Gary Patterson has been hired as Kansas State's 34th football coach, multiple sources have confirmed to GoPowercat.com.  Patterson replaces Ron Prince, who was fired Wednesday. - Tim Fitzgerald   Nov, 7, 2008

Boise State, Air Force, Navy, UCF, Temple, Houston, SMU... Surprised San Diego State isn't mentioned.

Listened to some 810 over my lunch break and it really made me appreciate this thread. They were going over which other schools the SEC might be targeting for the East Division(NC-State,VTech,Clem,Louisville etc) and why those wouldnt work/what is stopping it. Their reason's were the exact same as what was discussed here about 1 month ago  :blank:.

This thread

If its the same dude I saw he said the meetings are IN Cincy.   Which makes more sense than the big east meeting with a school already in their conference

Definitely getting into lawsuit territory now.  can show damages.
