Tom's Used T Post emporium!  Straight and almost Straight T posts.  One mile of old fence rolled up and posts removed.

Wednesday, the winter death storm forced me inside for the afternoon, so I helped replace bearings in the recently purchased 12 row planter that had flood damage requiring bearing replacement in all 12 row units.

Tillie kept warm by the gas heater in between ball fetching.

Stinky kitty and regular kitties

Holy crap. Was this captured with a security cam or was a person standing in the shop taking this pic. That is way closer than I ever want to be to a skunk.

I saw it there the night before just moseying down the automatic cat food feeder aisle without a care in the world. Went out the next night with my camera to grab a picture and it was right there when I slowly opened the door....barely even acknowledged me, just kept walking towards me slowly.

My dad thinks its the same one he trapped in the barn a couple of weeks ago...He was somehow able to get it out of the trap without being sprayed and just let it go because he wants it to have kids and try to kidnap one and raise it as a pet.  :dunno:

I did not see this plot twist in the cat ranch story coming.

So what's the long term plan with the removed brush? Burn it later this year or next year when it has dried out?

My farm dog gets spooked by the chickens and retreats under the planter for the afternoon.

Starter fertilizer, which is like a trickle at the furrow, I guess.  Not sure how many miles of pipe, hose, and tube this is going to take.

I used to have to put like that dark blue chowder all over the seed before it was put in the hoppers and, folks, that job sucked. my dad would go up and down and mostly I just sat in the truck waiting until he radio'd that I needed to get ready and then I'd have to rip open all the seed sacks and dump a scoop of that stuff into them and mix them up and then dump them into the hoppers when he got to me. feel like I've probably got cancer from whatever that stuff was/is.

I think that seed treatment was insecticide?  Atrazine... I remember dad mixing a lot of Atrazine with dust flying everywhere from innertube like bags he wouid stick a hose in and mix.

I've got a couple of weeks off between jobs so I went out to the cat ranch. Went up to sunset hill this evening and noticed a pool of water around our irrigation pivot so I went to check it out.

Turns out the release (?) valve or something blew off. Told the cat rancher to stop playing fortnite and come check it out and tell my city ass what was going on.

There is 1 pump for 2 pivots so we had to drive over to the other pivot to turn the pump off. Currently waiting for the pressure to die down on our pivot so we can put a cap on it. The cat rancher can't stop boasting about how good the fresh fresh ogallah aquifer water is and is currently "drinking from the trough".

Update, the cap was the wrong size. We are going back to the garage/workshop in hope of finding the correct size of cap.

Found a cap, crisis averted and the ogallah aquifer is saved. Feeling like a real cat rancher right about now.

Also this cap has an extension for 4 hose connections, no idea why but it works for now.

Cat count is around 4-5 adults and 4 adorable kittens that are just about old enough to climb out of their baby box and take on the world.
