Hay about gone for winter feeding.   Got my.new wire winder swapped out on the post hole digger.  Going to roll up some old fence lines like a boss this spring.

I have had to manually roll up so much barb in my life. Really fun work.

Got to test out the new wire winder yesterday. It works like a champ.  SD noted we've lost a lot of hours to hand rolling barbed wire.

Tater had enough walking the fence line, so he rode along while we pulled posts after getting wire rolled.  That's our custom post puller, which is a random john deere part (chisel clamp) and 3 ft chain.

tom, is the piece on the end of the log chain to pull out fence posts a custom made addition, never saw that before?  we would just wrap the log chain around the fence post and either hold the other end or hook it to the log chain.

It's a random john deere part from the scrap metal pile.  Dad was always looking for efficiency, and his sons poor skill set at holding a chain tight around a post prompted him to find something that fit over a t post and would catch it and pull.

Bolted a 3 ft hunk of chain to it.  Slide it over, catch a barb on the post, pulls it right out.  No dealing with extra chain or unwinding it.  Slide it out and throw it in the bucket and onto the next post.

They still sell that part, LOL.  Kind of an expensive post puller.

we had an owl recently disembowel and decapitate a rabbit in the backyard of the clams ranch.  the remaining headless/gutless rabbit was the greatest toy our 6 month old puppy has ever had.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

None were "sick" enough to be hand fed by the cat rancher so they will probably get named after their color.

Originally my dad thought the mama was the yellow one but later determined it was the black one.

"Healthy Kittens. I think the yellow one is the mamma"

"Saw the mamma. Black, Sleek, Wild. Great farm mouser and mamma. Yippee!"

This will probably be the end result, we also have a fox that hangs around the garage that could probably take a couple out if they venture outside. Thankfully the cat rancher has a fool proof security plan to keep the cats safe....You see you leave the garage door cracked just a tiny bit to let the cats in and out but keep out other animals, the correct amount to leave the door cracked can be measured by putting your foot down and closing the garage door on top of it, this will allow just enough space for cats to get in an out but also keep out unwanted animals.

This security measure DOES NOT stop the skunk from getting in and eating the cat food but I have been warned a billion times that I AM NOT to shoot the skunk and if my dogs get sprayed its my fault.

It's hard work being a cat rancher.

"5 kittens, 1 gone yesterday, 2nd one gone today.  Hmmmm.
Then I heard a cry.  Search began.  Found a non mom younger female trying to raise them - no milk for nursing.  Both back with siblings in the box."
