The cat ranch has been completely depopulated, not a single cat hiding in hay bales/random buildings so my dad has decided he is going to start blasting coyotes.

(But not until they get their winter coats)

I love love love that he is investing in night vision for his coyote hunting business

He tried his hardest to keep the yotes away from his cats without blasting them but sometimes you just have to go buy some night vision goggles and a rabbit call to keep the yotes in check (after they get their winter coats).

Also when we inherited the homestead my cousin was living in the upstairs part time so he put his bed in the unfinished basement. He pee's in a gallon jug down there and sprinkles it around the homestead to "Mark his territory so the coyotes dont eat the cats"

Here he is sprinkling his urine to keep the yotes away.

I saw at least one of the coyotes that ate all the cat ranch cats 3 different times while I was out there, twice in the CRP and once in the "creek" area of the pasture. Looked to be the same one each time but I don't know crap about yotes. My brother and I have decided that we are going to encourage my dad to hunt it just so he will buy some harbor freight knockoff night vision goggles/scope that we can use.

I texted my coyote hunting cousin about the sightings and he had seen the yote as well "He showed up every time we swathed alfalfa...hopefully I will have him hanging in a couple of weeks"

Looks like we will have ourselves a good ole fashioned coyote hunt off in a couple weeks!

Cross post to group text thread. This is from my family’s WhatsApp chat. Everyone agreed that these people have the correct priorities in life: God, America, KSU followed by cows.

This technology fascinates me 'clams.  I wonder if all the 80 ft empty silos across farm country could be repurposed to grow anything?

it’s very interesting and only a matter of time until it becomes more mainstream

I'm about 68% sure I just spooked a mt lion while pheasant hunting in our CRP.....

It was too far away to be 100% sure but it was a large cat and brownish, took off running through CRP when I was about 150 yards away.

Watched it run across the pasture and over some other fields.

It was in some tall grass so it was hard to see exactly how big it was but it appeared larger than a bobcat.

(was probably just a large bobcat)
