What happened to the river

Beavers damned it up about 4 miles upstream.

It looks like the cows kicked out the ducks and then drank all their water.

The creek is on one side of the pasture and he wants to break out 100 acres on the other side of the pasture

Verizon is going to pay my dad $500 a month to put up a cell tower.  It’s going to be on the other side of the pasture by the neighbor’s house. He said they’re probably going to complain. I told him to tell them they’re lucky, we were trying to get a wind turbine there.

I'm no farmer but that land looks like farm land to me, fortune favors the bold, that's what I always say.

Ladies getting impatient they made a break for the gate today while I was trying to pry my fat ass out of the skid steer.

Another pasture shot
You can see the cleared brush piles to the left.  Been cleaning this up for 2 years.

Nothing to see here.  Your standard grain bin.  Second steel door, finished inside became where we stored tools, parts, supplies, etc.  Even had a trap door with steps and an attic.  Dad had it wired for AC he was going to sleep in this during planting/ harvest instead of driving back into town.

The old hay trailer which is now a fencing trailer.   I think every kid in FFA in the 50s built one of these like a senior project.  Old steel tractor wheels for fenders, a truck tires axle, steel channel frame, and i beam tongue.

#1 and I replaced all the wood about 15 years ago.

An example of Tom Dad welding.

hen house has this cob strain called andy’s candy which i can’t stand that name

makes you wonder, are all corn cob strains p much the same?  soil, water, pesticides all different and can affect the flavors!  I wish stores had a wider selection of cob strains tbh, let me shop a little bit and find the good stuff.  no reason to limit selection.  what if they only had one type of bread?  people would be unhappy

lukedave: tell him not to

His original plan was to break out the entire 480 acre pasture including the creek and I've talked him down to 100 acres so baby steps....Also my dad is a notorious dreamer but never actually gets anything done so I put the chances of him breaking out 100 acres by next spring at less than 50%.

He tried to walk into the FSA in Colby the other week to ask about any rules/regulations regarding breaking it out but they told him due to covid he had to schedule an apt online, who knows if he has done that yet since he is busy nursing his newest runt kitten back to health.

That is the coolest farm workshop/building I have seen, would be a great hideout in the zombie apocalypse.
