What's even more fascinating (and trust me, this is WAY over guys like libliblib's head), is that Obama is doing a better job of spreading U.S. global hegemony than any Neo-Con/PNAC'er could ever dream ("The Grand Chessboard"). As Glenn Greenwald said (paraphrasing) several years ago; Obama is more PNAC than PNAC.

LOL, yes, the Cuban Missile Crisis, the attempts to assassinate Castro, the Bay of Pigs . . . literally not relevant today. I mean, that's why we have Cubans protesting in Miami, that's why they still have multi-night mini-series about JFK (with Cuba a huge portion of it), docu-dramas etc. etc. 50 and 60 years after it happened. You don't think the Castro brothers don't still hold a grudge?

Havana was Vegas before vegas. It is one of the things Castro hated. Batista let the corrupt govt run roughshod with out of country money casinos. Same castro. Will be interesting to see how slow they let us back in.

Natural gas isn't something you put in a barrel and load onto a boat. Russia will make crazy bank exporting gas to China and India and the rest of SE Asia as their industrial economies boom. We can't even get our north slope gas to the mid con market. crap, until the marcellus and utica shale, the most populated part of our country was running on heating oil and propane.

The only thing keeping Russia down is its stupid people and dumbass government. They are the one country whose natural resources compete with ours.
