The real story of his parents’ migration appears to be a more conventional immigrant narrative, a couple who came to the United States seeking a better life. In the year they arrived in Florida, the future Marxist dictator was in Mexico plotting a quixotic return to Cuba.

Right. And I'm sure the Rubios would have been welcomed back with open arms if they had tried to visit their family - like his grandfather who returned to Cuba shortly before Uncle Fidel came to power, and couldn't leave. Yes, Rubio certainly has no personal stake in the Cuban dictatorship.  :jerk:

I've said it before and I'll say it again, K-State fans could have beheaded the entire KU team at midcourt, and K-State fans would be celebrating it this morning.  They are the ISIS of Big 12 fanbases.

Yes, that Bob Menendez sure is "toeing the GOP line." But I guess it's nice that you associate the GOP with opposing brutal dictatorships.

"Exile is not a time frame," he told the newspaper. "Exile is an experience. It's a sentiment. For my parents, it's the very real pain of being permanently separated from the nation of their birth."

It seems like today's news would be a nice first step to his parents visiting Cuba again? :dunno:

Opening up trade with Cuba moves our economic needle about as much as adding Armenia as a state would. It benefits them way more than us.

If this happened in 2007, libtards would be howling about how this is just another way to export jobs.

While I don't really have a problem with starting down the road to more normal relations with Cuba (I mean after all, Democratic hero JFK sort of invaded the place, and then blocked shipments and what not . . . before getting killed and thus bringing the next Democratic hero into office who faked an incident at sea and got 50,000 plus American's killed and hundreds of thousands of Vietnamese . . . which subsequently got hundreds of thousands of Cambodians killed etc. etc. so on and so forth).

But it is fascinating that this seems to all have been done with little or no debate, discussion or consultation with elected representatives.   Prog-libs seem to really enjoy dictatorial types.

Probably lots of prog-lib factions that are none-to-pleased a religious guy was heavily involved.

Prog-Libs are strange, and extremely partisan.

Someone tell me the downside of turning Cuba into the Bahamas with better cigars, equal beaches and strategically located?

We are essentially taking Cuba.
