his point was that osu doesn't deserve to make the tournament.  and he's right, obviously.

i thought okla st passed the "eye test."

They've lost 5 of 6 and have looked bad doing it. If OU beats them on Thursday they'll be 18-13. I'd rather see a team that went over 3 months without losing be in than a team that tied for 6th and had a losing record in its conference.

In the past the committee has given teams like Murray St a chance ('13 MTSU, '11 Iona, '06 George Mason).

Murray State is not more deserving than OSU. Murray State would probably go 4-14 at best in the Big 12.

You can make a pretty good argument that both don't deserve to be in the tournament. Definitely better than one or the other.

Yeah, but that's the bottom of the bubble every year.

True, but their resumes aren't even comparable. OSU has the clear advantage.

new AD at Marquette, saw writing on the wall about the Big East becoming a mid major and heard Gottlieb on 810 Buzz really wanted Texas but thought Barnes had turned it around and would be there for awhile after last season.

he actually made more at Marquette and reportedly had a mid six figures speaking gig with a big Marquette donor that is a Wall Street hot shot.

I think he could be a tremendous rebound hire for KSU if he flames out at a very tough job in Blacksburg.

he made more per year, but he has more guaranteed money at vatech.

Quote
Williams determined it was wiser to jump while he was still ahead, and though his contract at Virginia Tech is technically for less money on a per-year basis, it's a seven-year deal with an automatic rollover clause that will never allow it to be less than a five-year deal, meaning the security provided makes it a better deal for a man openly planning for the day he's fired.

williams is a fascinating person.  if brad underwood didn't exist, there isn't another coach i'd rather have coach at kansas state than buzz williams.  but of course, underwood does exist.

Buzz is good buddies with frank because they both have a terrible tailor in kC that makes their hideously misfitted suits.
