Stoops admitted there’s not much any defense can do to stop the creative schemes

Except change the rule :jerk:

If Mike were at Iowa State the refs would probably extend the 3 yards to 6 or something like that.

I love his strategy:

Quote
"Complain … until they do something about it,” Stoops said when asked how to stop it.

Well, that seems like a productive strategy that most winners employ.

Yeah, teams that can get bigger, stronger, faster recruits should never complain.  They should use the bigger, stronger, faster, kids to murder the other teams with the same bending of rules.

That said, I absolutely love how the Stoops' complain, justify, etc stuff with the media.

“The linemen running down the field and trying to throw a pass when they’re five yards down the field, to me is ridiculous,” Stoops said on Tuesday evening. “Football has gotten to where it is stupid, letting guys run [running] plays then throw the ball. I’m just not a big fan of it -- it’s lenient and all of a sudden it’s three, four, five yards.

“Once you get to a certain point it’s not even fair.”

Very Iowa Stateo.

Also, I love these plays. We had, what 3 of them that worked against OU and only 1 (the TD) that got called back?
I've said it before and I'll say it again, K-State fans could have beheaded the entire KU team at midcourt, and K-State fans would be celebrating it this morning.  They are the ISIS of Big 12 fanbases.

Oklahoma coaches whining about K-State's unfair advantages. This is fantastic.

Just want to make note that on OU's last TD in same game, their center was four yards down field when the ball was released. Yes, sour grapes.

Will we play a game in conference this year where the refs don't heavily favor us on the field?

It's hard to imagine at this point.

In all seriousness, though... What is the point of this stupid rule?  So the defense can correctly read whether it is a run or pass within 3 seconds of the ball being snapped?  Why not just abolish the rule and implement a new one where if you line up in an "I" formation you have to run and when you line up in shotgun you have to pass?

another idea i've been spitballin is to allow the defense to call the other team's offensive plays

Exactly the same distance down field as our guys for the Gronk TD.

That poor, poor, KSU defender.

At that point, he's absolutely convinced they're running the ball now that the center went passed three yards.  I can only imagine what outrage and injustice he felt when that pass was thrown.  Mike was right, it's a tragedy.

does it matter that in that exact moment he 56 is not technically engaged in blocking?
