It looks like its ole Ed's to lose:

Quote from: Ed Orgeron, via College Football Talk

"It's a Power Five (job)," Orgeron told George Schroeder of USA Today at a speaking engagement Monday in Little Rock, Ark. "(Mark) Mangino went 12-1 and went to the Orange Bowl. It's in a great conference. His staff proved that you can do it."

When asked if he really wanted to be Kansas' fourth head coach seven years, Orgeron was undeterred.

"It's a challenging job," he said. "But most jobs you get, there's gonna be some things you're gonna have to fix."

I am thinking 2 Million maybe?

Brady Hoke

He's pretty fat, so KU could save on coach's gear and office chairs and stuff that Weis left behind, plus, it's just continuity. He has one good year at every place he's coached, which is better than nothing. He'll be unemployed soon, and we'll be paying him 2 mil next year so you could probably get him on the cheap.

He recruits really well, actually. So there's that too. He doesn't wear a headset so you can save a bit there.

I know KU probably has their heart set on Harbaugh, but he's a lot less interested now that the tracks been removed.

Could Mich be warming up the for cause firing bandwagon?

KU is right on par with Notre Dame ... when it comes to adding additional conference revenue

SEC, tho.  Everyone knows that it is a far superior schedule to the Big12.

He was really awesome as interim HC at Southern Cali tho, and I think everyone knows that Lawrence is basically the Southern Cali of the midwest.  Could this fit any better?

orgeron actually wants this job? or is this just like how you have to show you are trying to find work to continue collecting unemployment?

Guys I have decided to throw my hat in the ring for KU's next football coach.  I have zero football coaching experience, but have been undefeated the past 2 seasons coaching my 4th and 5th grade soccer team and it is called football in Europe.  Also I have read almost all the Fan_Frames and have watched almost all KSU games since 1994.  The best part is I would do it for somewhere in the neighborhood of $300k/year, due to my lack of experience.  My only drawback would be that I am well under 200 lbs.

I think that I could get KU rolling at 4-5 wins per year as their head coach. The only problem is that I would probably need 4 years to build the team up with my guys to get to that point, and KU has proven that they just aren't that patient. So I would need a guaranteed contract to even think about it.

I would like to see them do something really innovative like

TWITCH PLAYS KU FOOTBALL

the plays and personnel choices will all be made in real time by the collective internet hive mind.

IT costs: $15k/yr?

Oh man!  Feed it through twitter.  You could block the ppl that submitted plays that don't work so that you eventually whittle down to a good solid set of twitter users/coordinators.
What if everyone ends up blocked? [/size]

KU football blocking EVERYONE?

Condoleezza Rice

Pros: It can't hurt to have a voice on the College Football Playoff Selection Committee
Cons: Stanford alum; potential to jump ship if her Alma Mater calls.
$$$: 2.5 mil
