Anybody ever been attacked by a dog?

So many questions... It barely broke the skin on my forehead and left arm, but left a pretty nasty bruise on my left ass cheek.  Strangely, it all happened so fast that I only initially remembered the facial bite (attempt) and the bite of my left arm.

They offered to pay any medical expenses, and were/are very upset by what happened.  Will be having a discussion with uncle charlie later today, because as time passes, I'm also of the belief that others (especially kids) may be in danger moving forward.

An Australian Shepard attacked my face when I was like 2 years old. I almost lost my eye, had to have lots of stitches on my face and I still have a scar. Grandpa (same one in the supper thread!) definitely judged the dog.

Yes, when it's the kids its just awful. Kids should never be subjected to that.

My dog was put on trial when I was a kid. Our neighbors walked by our backyard and their dog approached my dalmation that was on his chain. Both dogs got into it and our WT neighbors took us to court claiming my dog attacked there's in our backyard and they wanted to sue us for damages.  Little did they know, my mom was the main para legal for the county and we had our pick of lawyers. We smoked them in the court room. Trash neighbors gonna trash.

Okay, here is the deal. If you can't think of anything at all that may have triggered the dog to attack you and you can see a time in the future when this could happen to another  human being (especially a child), then you should notify authorities. It's just a dog.

I had a neighbor's dog nip at me with the end result of a single puncture wound and a bruise. I didn't do anything about it, but I still hope today that the offending dog is dead and never did that to anyone else. It happened about 10 years ago. Like you, dogs love me and I love dogs. I did nothing to set this dog off.

children can be (usually are) complete assholes to dogs.  really young children don't even realize they are being assholes to the dogs.  it's a miracle of selection that more dogs don't bite the crap out of children that deserve to have the crap bitten out of them.

A dog that bites someone unprovoked needs to be "hit by a truck".

Love dogs, had to put one down for something similar, just the way it is.

The exception is working dogs.  If your mean rough rider farm dog is mean, you're doing it right, probably.  Keeping the 'yotes off your calves isn't a job for the well mannered.

My childhood babysitter lived next door to a cop. He left his cop dog out in the backyard, usually in room sized cage in the middle of the yard. But one day it was out, not sure if intentionally or if it got out, but it bit my finger and I had to get stitches. Not sure what happened to it, since you know, I was two. But that cop dog does not seem very good at his job.

If you are really torn about what to do, maybe offer to drop everything if they pay to get the dog trained by a professional?
