I must have missed the body count Toddler dobber racked up in the off season.

Too many adorable things too discuss. For one, if he were to talk to any of you, he'd be telling you every detail he has planned out for his dinosaur birthday party. He's been telling everyone about it for the last month. His birthday is in November.

Angels lax won 14-2. I guess they are supposed to be really good this year. I don't know jack about lax. One kid seemed to be able to carry the ball all over the field and no one could stop him. dobberjr played the last couple of minutes of the game. Really looks like a great up and coming lax player. Even said, "screw it" and took a shot like a boss. They played a 5th quarter for all of the kids that didn't get much/any playing time. Jr played all of that period as well. No goals.
He said he had a lot of fun.

He doesn't play very aggressive. I think it's because he doesn't understand the game. It seems like it would be fun.

Dobberjr's Ninjas won their first match of the spring season 6-1. They looked a little rusty, but jr. is in pretty good shape due to the lax practices on top of the soccer practices. His only real opportunity today was on an offsides, otherwise he had a couple of decent crosses, but This game isn't worth a great write up.

Here is an update on Fedor jr., he got on an MAYB team that is pretty good.  He has a long way to go to get up to speed with these kids, but it will be the best coaching he has ever had.  They are forcing him to do things the right way instead of just getting by being bigger/faster/stronger than everyone else.  Also there are some big/fast/strong kids to compete against who don't suck at basketball like Fedor jr's dad.

How has the LAX been going slobber?

I missed the last 3 games because of travel. He got a bunch of time on Wednesday. He loves it. Team is 4-1 or so. Pretty good.

Go MAYB FEDORJR! That will be great experience.

Last weekend the dobberette Lightning failed to score, but did have some shots on goal, in a 0-3 loss. Dobberette has already told one of her teammates, "I am quitting after this year. I like the games, but I don't like practice."

dobberjr won 6-0. They are looking pretty good. Dobberjr scored one and coach called him over to the sideline and said, "let everyone know there is now a 4 touch maximum." It seemed that coach that jr and some of the others were dribbling a bit too much late in the game, trying to score.

dobberjr also scored his first goal in lax this week.

Dobberette's KU coach thinks Oubre is making a big mistake. He is just not ready and would benefit from another year at KU.

You need to nurture his success STARTING NOW and I think you may have a star on your hands.

Daughter 1 is really into swimming. There was a meet last weekend and she got a new A time and a new B time. (That's swimming lingo). So basically we're dealing with the next Missy Franklin here.

Daughter 2 is taking her first crack at basketball. It's going fantastic. Definitely the best dribbler out there. Who is the girl Steph Curry? She's basically that.

At what age should I sign up my daughter for organized sports (not competitive, just learn the rules and try some different stuff to see what she likes) 4, 5, 6? :dunno:

yeah any of those ages should work for soccer. 4 is probably the low end. You can probably find stuff for younger kids but it's likely stupid and a waste of money. I don't know, google your local soccer club or whatever and see when they start.

toddlerdobber will be 5 in November. We are thinking about starting him in soccer this fall. They have a "lil' dribblers" thing for 2 year olds, but it is a complete waste of time and money. dobberjr started in the fall just before turning 6 in December. We all know how well that has turned out for him. (If you don't, he is basically Bo Jackson inside of Lebron James's body, with a Messi's feet.)

lil sd is essentially sd's good looks crossed with mrs. Sd's poor coordination. He's fast as crap though. He takes like 25 steps to my 1 and maintains distance when I'm chasing him with the vacuum popping thing he always demands to be chased with.

My 3 year old goes to an extra thing that we pay for at his daycare called Soccer Shots, that he loves the snot out of. More or less every single night of the week he asks, "Do I have Soccer Shots tomorrow?" and then gets really sad if the answer is no. But if it's Tuesday, then the answer is yes, and the world is a magnificent place to be! I wouldn't make a special trip to take him to the same kind of thing, but since he's already there, and its not that much money, we figure we might as well.

We can't take him to either of his brother's games or practices because he is constantly trying to run out onto the field to play. Or if he's not doing that he is asking "Why can't I play soccer on the field?" Sometimes either I'll kick the ball around with him for a while, or he'll find somebody's brother or sister that will, but its not the same thing as being out on the field. And I can't do it during Boy 2's games, cause I'm the coach.

The little guy is both left footed, and only uses his hand to stop (trap in soccer parlance) the ball about 15% of the time, so I know that he is going to be really good.

Quality post. 3 yr olds at soccer games are what keep this thread fresh. Tether him to the bench and then live blog during the game while coaching.

Skipper5 flatly refused to participate in the "Happy Feet" soccer program last week. :curse: HOWEVER, when we got home he did go out on the driveway and shoot baskets by himself for the first time and has continued to do so basically everyday since :D
