dobber thinks that Jake has become more accustomed to Snyder's qb run game and is going to have a breakout season.

(can somebody confirm that so I can get even more excited  :excited: )

Confirmed.

more accustomed to the run game? when? during spring practice/games where no one was allowed to tackle him or during summer 7 on 7 passing drills?
Your rhetorical question sounds sarcastic. Sarcasm has no place ITT!

Quote
I live in Roseville, CA (suburb of Sacramento), where Taylor Laird, recent QB commitment, is from.  I was standing in line at a 7-11 the other day when I noticed that the young woman behind me was wearing a K-State t-shirt.  I told her I'm from Manhattan, lifelong K-State fan, etc., and then I asked her if she was a student at K-State.  She said no, but that her boyfriend, Taylor Laird, is the starting quarterback of the football team. I told her I thought Jake Waters would be the starter this year, and she said, "Yes, Jake is the starter this year, but Coach Snyder has already told Taylor he'll be the starter next year."  I just smiled and nodded.

Always good to have someone rooting for you...
:sdeek:

This was a good post. I mean, the gpc guy that posted it, originally. Because it's funny. Because it kinda gives you a glimpse into how recruiting pitches go. And also, there's something weird about this Taylor Laird guy. Like, all indications seem to point to him being stud, but no recruiting people seem to think he's anything but a low confidence loser.

I imagine it'd be pretty hard to win without a quarterback.

Got the chance to spend a few hours with one of our better players on this team.. senior.  He said this is hands down the best team since he's been here.  Thinks they could be really special.

Team is super focused, much more than last year according to him.

Depth is off the charts, competition at so many positions pushing each other.

He did say the coaches are really high on Clinks and Derricott... said they usually don't say much at all about incoming players but have said these two will make an impact (at the time we talked he had no clue if they'd get there yet)

Great leadership on the team... not some of the distractions they had last year.  Said nobody is happy with last year, and is working hard ot make sure there aren't slip ups like we had in 2013

Got  me pretty excited to hear one of the players thinking like this... could be a fun season

Coming to you Fall '14.  Lockett is a stud but he can't do it all.  Dropping back and throwing up bombs into double coverage isn't gonna work this year for the ISU wannabe reject
