Spangles is terrible. They're trying to encourage high schoolers to hang out there by having self-proclaimed "crazy" toppings.

Still think there is no way to beat So Long. A good portion of my friends who have moved away from MHK always have to stop by there when they come back to visit. And their fries and onion rings are amazing, too.

Freddy's fries =  :barf:
Disagree, I love Freddy's shoestring fries. Love the celery salt they sprinkle on them. The Chicago dog they have is pretty good too.
Not a fan of Vista burgers, but a fan of everything else they have.

Spangles, same way - their burgers are garbage.
I haven't had anything at Vista that I was satisfied with. The fries are bad. The corndogs at Sonic are better. Mozzarella sticks at Arbys are better. I've just never seen a reason for why people seem to like it so much.

As far as the burgers at Spangles... there's nothing special about the beef they use, but they offer enough toppings/options to make up for it IMO. If I could pick any fast food burger to have in Manhattan I'd go with either Five Guys or Hardees. It just doesn't make sense to me why a Spangles hasn't opened up here when there are four in Salina, several in Topeka, one in Lawrence and several in Wichita.

:dunno:

mhk apparently getting a smash burger.
WTF is a smash burger and where are they putting it?

Let me put this thread straight.

Vista-great value, decent food, super nostalgic.

Spangles- Everything sucks but the turkey bacon ranch which is delicious.

Hardees-On the same level as Wendy's

Smash Burger- Good, expensive if I remember correctly (didn't pay)

Big D's-Good, don't know about price (didn't pay, thanks Waks)

For a chain, I do like Red Robin.  Food is good, service sucks, too many damned kids and all that but good eats.

i used to work there. It's impossible to give good service there, they make it really really hard on their wait staff

Being from Salina, most people either love Cozy burgers or hate them.  I used to like them but not any more.  Also, when you go there you come out smelling terrible (not good for steve dave types)

They opened like a year before White Castle

It was actually a year after white castle.  They always have ex cons working there and it isnt as cool as it used to be because they are like a buck a piece now. When I was a kid you coul get them for like 50 cents a pop.  Plus they used to have the cool returnable soda bottles.

If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Red Robin absolutely sucks ass.

Actually IHOP has suprisingly good burgers.

Would really love a Hardees to come to Manhattan. Of course, this would mean i would gain 15 pounds or so. But it would be worth it imo.

Also, I actually like Vista burgers :dunno maybe i'm weird.

Used to eat a The Party all the time, was good Mexican to me. Never ate at hillside. Thought the horse place was pretty good for the most part. My Little Ranch is spectacular if you're in the KC area.
I once blew clove smoke in a guy's face that cut in front of me in the line to KJ's.

Seems like Mexican in Manhattan is hit or miss depending on what you order. The Burrito Supreme Steak at Los Portillos right now is by FAR my favorite dish anywhere.
