I don't have the time or resources to follow the Royals. The 9am and 1pm kickoffs were perfect for watching at work.

Also the Royals still have 72 games left if you're looking to fill a World Cup void. I know its not soccer, but you'll feel right at home. We'll leave the door unlocked, beer is stocked, and we'll even have a plate of brownies for you upon you arrival.

what kind of beers and brownies we talkin?

he currently plays for manchester city (sunny_cat's team), but i think he's put in a transfer request

they are extremely good and extremely rich, more or less owned by the extremely wealthy deputy prime minister of the UAE/business tycoon

Liverpool

I have a friend that grew up in Liverpool and he persuaded me to become an LFC fan so that we could watch games together.  It's been great for our friendship. Probably one of my closest friends now.  Went to an LFC game this spring in Liverpool. Maybe one of the most incredible experiences of my life.

I guess you can pick a team based on any criteria you want. And liking a certain player is as good of a reason as any. Very few players stay at one team very long anymore.  Especially strikers.

I can just be thankful you're not choosing to be a Chelsea fan.

Liverpool is American owned.   #merica

He's been a weirdo whiny bitch. Last season will end up being the best of his career. I'm all in for selling him for 40 million pounds and buying Paul Pogba. We'd have Pogba, Fernandinho, and Fernando in the midfield. I think Javi Garcia is leaving.

yeah, most any time you can sell a 31 y/o for ~40M GBP it's probably not a bad piece of business.  i just don't want him to go to some POS club

Since this is turning into a help choose a European team thread I'll join in. Criteria: 1) can't be a perennial favorite, I tend to cheer for underdogs though preferably not a perennial bottom feeder either (I want KState not KU) 2) must have some likeable players but a little toughness is appreciated

Also, if they have some history of ripping their fans heart out on a regular basis I'll probably fall hard

sounds like you're looking to be an Everton fan. Maybe Tottenham.

By K-State I meant good enough to occasionally win and compete for titles, never really worried about finishing dead last, but every time we think we have a shot at Natty getting A&M'd or Baylor'd. My Love of the Chiefs and the Blues also falls in this same general mindset. Royals somewhat.

Will look into Everton and Tottenham.

i just don't see myself getting into soccer beyond world cup.  epl, who gives a crap... it's a bunch of teams i don't know or care about and they play at like 6am (?) so def out.  mls, so laughably small time.  champions league sounds alright, but suffers from the same who gives a crap about these teams factor that the epl has.

country a vs. country b is truely the greatest way to go about sports.

Oh man, didn't realize this Everton or Tottenham would lead to a battle of beloved American goalies. Tim Howard  vs Brad Friedel (had no idea he was still playing  :surprised:). Though the giant hp logo on the Spurs kit is very  :Yuck: so definite point against there.

Which "arch-rival" is more hateable? Arsenal or Liverpool?
