I'm not going to lie, I don't understand how the field is "quicker" when it's wet like the commentators are saying.
That makes more sense. I'm used to football where wet fields supposedly slow down faster teams.

when it's wet but not soaked, the ball tends to "skip" more than grip. if it's soaked, then yeah it gets slow and nasty - fine balance
