I watched like 87 minutes of the game and missed both our goals.

this thread is 100x better than the other World Cup thread (I call that one the "crap thread").

yeah. the other thread just seems to lack a sense of humor imo. a little snooty with an "above it all" sort of attitude. plus pretty insecure also.

basically, sporting/soccer fans are well on their way to squawk town if they don't turn that bus around buster.

Both threads are fine, jackasses. I mean if we're throwing stones here this thread featured three pages of the same rape joke and like 20 pages of the flaunting of ignorance like it's a badge of honor or something.

he played better towards the end but he needs to stop letting every middle pass go. all together probably his worst overall game that i have watched

yeah.  he has a very punchable face and isn't at all versatile, but he fills that role well

Why couldn't we keep the ball more?  We just kept passing it to the other team, or just kicking it far down and letting them get it.  Was this part of a defensive strategy or just ineptitude on offense?

mostly scheme combined with poor linking from defense to our forwards (we're gonna need a lot better out of our guy bradley who is usually known for filling this role)

pretty much just let ghana live on our side when we weren't showing a lot of threat going forward

our guys were notably tired and cramping i think howards long bombs were to either give them a break (didnt work) or try to get lucky with a set up to try to get our strikers free (mostly didnt work) poor passes really hurt us especially near the box

Scoring that early in a game can really be the kiss of death a lot of the time. I thought we stayed composed and forced Ghana into a lot of weak half-chances. Possession was a bit of a problem, but I don't see Bradley playing the poorly again.

Then giving up an equalizing goal that late on, after holding a lead for over 80 minutes, is just DEFLATING. To come back after that and grab a game winner is simply phenomenal and it will be remembered forever. They were heroes out there last night.

JK is the absolute best at substituting players in. remember when he put eddie johnson in during concacaf and eddie jogged onto the field, we kicked a corner, and eddie headed it in without ever stopping his jog? wow. great stuff JK. Jur-Klins if you will

Credit where credit is due.  That goal after the equalizer was pretty incredible.  Beyond the 80th minute, they didn't fold.  they played to win.  Between our goal and the 80th minute, we played not to lose.

Post game guys were like Johannson isn't very good with his back to the goal.  In-game announcers did a pretty good job of trashing Johannson as well.  our depth up top seems to be quite an issue.
