there are two types of people at pot lucks where i work:

people that can cook and like to show off, so they make delicious things and bring them
people that can't cook and don't really care, so they buy delicious junk food and bring it

it's a win-win

Pot lucks are stupid. I do not enjoy buying or receiving food from people.  I also don't eat at buffets

Same with clothes

Buffets are the worst. Except maybe the breakfast buffet at the Rio.

I can't imagine disliking a food so much that I couldn't eat it. To each his own, but it seems like people who can't eat certain foods are completely exaggerating their dislike of them.

My biggest problem with potlucks is the temperature of the food. It always sits out too long.

I don't think can't often factors into outside of allergies and cellies and crohnies and so forth.  I can eat sardines.  I do not want to though.  Blech.

I'm not a picky eater but I will never participate in an office potluck.  After seeing the bathroom and grooming habits of the people in my office, I won't put anything in my mouth that any of them may have touched.

I am going to buy you Station's brussel sprouts at FattyFest and you are going to laugh at your foolishness for not liking them before.

Yeah, I don't mind those. So weird. However, a fresh cut up onion and I get a gag reflex.
