Picky Eaters
« on: May 19, 2014, 12:14:28 PM »
Growing up, we ate what we were served or went hungry.  As a result, I am not a very picky eater.  Cottage cheese and stuffing are the only two things that come to mind that I refuse to eat.  The older I get it seems I become increasingly annoyed with picky eaters.  Like, just stfu and eat the damn food, it's not going to kill you.  At a funeral dinner last week, I watched my mid 50 's father in law pick the crust off the bread on his sandwich and wanted to reach across the table and punch him for being a little bitch.

as i get older, i'm starting to think i should become more picky.  i have a limited number of hungers left in my life, wasting them on food i don't like a whole lot seems stupid.

completely agree. its unacceptable for anyone over the age of like 12 to pick crust off their sandwich. guy at my office does it and hes in his mid 30s. it must be completely embarrassing.

What's worse, a picky eater or someone who simply refuses to try new things?

What CNS said. Who gives a crap what someone else is doing? They don't want to eat ribs because there are bones in them? More for me.

im not really concerned with someone saying no to something (unless its a common food that i cooked for them), im more concerned with someone being picky in a group business setting.

were at a rough ridin' awards banquet and heres this dude asking a waiter if they have anything besides lasagna in the kitchen? gmafb. starve, or eat what youre given.

Both are equally horrible people. My wife is sometimes a horrible person for the latter, my kids for the former. We just let the kids go hungry now. They eat better the next meal. dobber jr now gets it, and he just eats whatever we make. Working on dobberette.

My gf does this kind of a lot. I'll suggest new restaurants or menu items, but nope. She knows what she wants before even getting to the restaurant

picky eaters can be a problem if you're cooking for more then one. Like, it's pretty dickish to refuse to eat vegetables when someone is taking the time to cook a meal for you.

What if someone makes airplane noises while moving the fork toward your mouth?

Confession time, I haven't eaten lasagna for a few months now. I used to buy the family size stouffer's frozen lasagna all the time and would knock a pan out over the course of a few meals. Well, last time I ate lasagna I accidentally bought the party size version instead of the family size, the party size is supposed to serve like five more people. Long story short, I finished that pan off without wasting any lasagna, but I haven't had the desire to eat any since.
