The SNL weekend update with Cecily Strong grilling Bobby Moynihan as GRRM about why he still hadn’t finished the 6th book was 7 years ago & the 6th book still isn’t close. The book series is done as is.

I don't think he's as lazy as he is scared.  I honestly think he's terrified that that he won't live up to the hype, and is terrified of the risk of rejection on that.  I think Patrick Rothfuss is trying to pull the same crap....try and get $ out of what he has via media rights, and promise to finish it later (never).

It looks like he’s written 1,000+ pages of prequel novellas that are going to be the basis for some of the new HBO shows. He knew that’s where the money was going & has been prepping to cash in on new shows.

him writing like 3 or 4 whole other books on the side is easily the most infuriating part of not finishing ice and fire.

I support both him and his haters. Let the writers write (or not in this case) and the haters hate.

Guys!! Jon Snow spin off w/ Brienne and others!!!
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

What are our thoughts about the new show tonight? I can’t decide if I’m going to watch, or wait a few weeks and see if it’s crap or not

I was worried I wouldn't be able to get through that one scene, but it wasn't as bad as I feared. I don't like the actor playing Daemon. Hopefully that just sucks me in more since he's the bad guy and we're supposed to dislike him.

I like Paddy Considine, too. I remember him from The Outsider.

I wanted to jokingly ask, "Is that Neil Patrick Harris?" But then I was afraid to ask in case it actually was NPH.

It's weird to say, but the CGI was beautiful in this episode. I'm also looking forward to learning more about the crab people.

Yep. Very fun. Crab people seem interesting. I am also hoping for some Ricken Stark and Knights Watch moments.

It’s absolutely filling a tv void I wasn’t sure was fillable. It’s like the 2011 cat football squad.

Yep. I'll keep watching. The world sure feels smaller, though. Hopefully they introduce more characters/chaos soon.
