While historically a decent program, Auburn has only had back to back 10/10+ win seasons ONCE in the history of the program.

lol at people worried that auburn is more talented. we're almost always less talented. we almost went to the NT with a team with pretty similar talent level (AB being the outlier).

I'm worried about Gus.

We've got our asses kicked plenty of times by more talented OOC teams. Bs's schemes work great until we truly are outclassed at most positions then we get smashed. Good news is we are prob a bit more talented than usual next year.

I was under the impression that the Auburn D would be just God awful this year because they were losing so many starters from an already abysmal roster, but apparently the Tiger (War Eagle?  :dunno:) fans are pretty rough ridin' pumped for the defense going into 2014...Guys, I don't think we can with this game without Sams around to run the Wildcat, and now I'm super rough ridin' depressed  that the most I can expect out of this season is 9-3 and a possible Cotton Bowl.  :frown:

Found an Auburn hat tonight at the place of my work. "Auburn 2013 SEC football champs," Hat. I immediately threw it away.

9-3 would be amazing.

Did anybody else's excitement level regarding this game get decreased ever so slightly with the announcement of Sams' intention to abandon us?

I did, when I found out he left for better opportunities for himself. He didn't abandon us.

perhaps "abandon" was a poor choice of words, but that wasn't the point of the post.

Nick Marshal apparently got charged with drug possession.  According to Auburns rules if a player has a second offense they are suspended for half the season. Not sure if this is his second offense though?

I would assume it is not. But I would also assume that one of our goEMAW elites can get him his second one before September 18th......

I should preface this post by saying that I'm an addiction specialist, and work with drug addicts on a daily basis.

This young man has all the characteristics of a hardened marijuana addict.  I hope Coach Malzahn makes the right (and compassionate move) and removes Nick from the team, for his own good, and he gets the help he needs.

Agreed. Also note worthy, this would have never happened if Nicholas would have gone under Snyder's wing originally. Quite sad really.

It just breaks your heart to see a guy with so much talent throw it all away just so he can go out one night and get all potted up on weed with his friends. Friends who, by and large, don't have his best interests in mind and therefore can't be considered true friends anyway! Okay, off my soapbox!!
