Have you seen Dark? It’s a German language sci-fi (good, high budget w/ good drama, not shitty sci-fi) w/ subtitles. rough ridin' great

I have not, but I will check it out!

Yeah the first season is amazing once you overcome the fact that all Germans look the same. It was hard to get into the second season because so much happens season 1

first season of Dark was awesome. Never got into other seasons.

subtitles is best, I'm always distracted by how bad the voiceovers are.

Surprisingly, I was hardly bothered by the voiceovers for Squid Game. The subtitles/voiceovers negatively impacted my experience with Dark, though. I'm not sure why.

I finished Squid Game yesterday. The "twist" was just unnecessary. What did it really change? I did like it overall though.

Really enjoyed the first two episodes of Bad Sport on Netflix. Really good storytelling on interesting subjects told by those involved themselves.

Episode 1 covers the Arizona State point shaving scandal from the 90s

Episode 2 is about this race car driver who funded his team by moving massive amounts of weed

The first game was ruined for me. I listened to a podcast that described the show, but if not for that podcast I wouldn't have watched.

I didn't think the last couple episodes were that great. I thought there were some cheesy scenes. I thought the little town they shot in was cool.

imo in the horror genre there will always be cheesy scenes, and whether they land or not depends on if the viewer has bought in or not. there was so much exposition and character development along the way (maybe even too much!?) that i was bought in. some of the meandering monologues about death, guilt, etc were probably too much for a lot of people, but for the most part i loved them. and again i just had no idea where the whole thing was going, which made it very fun. the actors playing the priest and the annoying sycophant lady should win some awards.

Most of the way thru season 2 of Ted Lasso...very binge-able stuff still, but lordy it's nowhere near as lighthearted as season 1...

Man you nailed it here. I miss Albert's brother Bob a lot, but Albert did a great job his first episode. He had the line about witching his movies so I wiki'd him and I realize I've never seen one of his movies.

Lucy Liu has been giving me the vapors since Charlie's Angels

Jeff Garlin will be starting a curb rewatch podcast starting in November, he'll start with season 1 episode 1, I'm certain it'll be better than the scrubs rewatch pod.

started rewatching downton abbey. the only gay character and the only two characters who smoke cigarettes are 100% evil to everyone around them and it's never explained why.
also i think the creator of the show imagines himself as Mr Bates.
