Wish we could have got that into Smiths hands at the end

That Marquette team is not good. Cringe worthy last possession.

That would have been a nice win to have, but I can't get torn up about it.

Next year, however,  is oscar's last best hurrah and these need to be wins.  I hope he makes the most of it.

Oscar; next year. Why even? We're going to finish ninth or tenth in conference, losing a slew of games just like this one. Attendance will dwindle as fans conclude "been there; seen that." Get rid of the loser.

Horrible last possession

I don't know how, especially watching this team, so many of our fans think a 6'9" guy one on one at the rim is a horrible possession? There isn't a single person on this planet, if given the chance to choose beforehand, that would have selected a McGuirl 3, he was the open player, his guy was late helping, over Massoud going one on one at the rim. That was an excellent look a college team, even moreso of one from an offensively challenged team missing their best player.

A lot of kasubke jerseys in the crowd tonight.

lol, those are the free jerseys for the students, they aren't Luke jerseys, they are for 2022.

My son was excited to get one picked up.  They also gave the kids pizza before the game.

Massoud taking a lot of heat on the rivals website. "Least favorite KSU player of all time" someone said. Wow, I know he's inconsistent but I think he has potential.

If he can improve his rebounding he can be a really nice player for us

He ran under the rim and got blocked, it was a low percentage shot was my issue, not who had the ball, at least give yourself the backboard and more and a desperation flip/turn around at the buzzer.

It didn't have to be a The Flush play v Kentucky, but that worked better because you're going to the rim, not falling away from it

Wooly would have been proud of this game.

Best case, oscar gets fired, we hire someone hungry that can keep the core guys together and be pretty good for a couple years.

I feel like this team is  a lot like Wooly's last year.

oscar Weber has now lost 5 consecutive games to Shaka Smart and I believe is now 5-8 all time vs Coach Smart.

It’s dumb when before the game, fans are like “yea I’d be ok with a close loss, we don’t have Nijel”. Then the close loss happens and they’re all  :curse:

These Cats seem pretty fun to watch. I'm admittedly low BBIQ but I thought Nowell, Mark Smith, Ish, Bradford, Selton and Kaosi did things that I liked watching. Like they did fun things on offense and in transition. Nowell was doing JYCish rebounding. I did not think Mike was fun to watch. I was disappointed but not mad about last night. Still too many dumb guarded threes after using up the shot clock dithering 35 feet away from the basket, imho.

It didn't have to be a The Flush play v Kentucky, but that worked better because you're going to the rim, not falling away from it

He got the ball, in his hands, on the wing, with 5 seconds on the clock. Getting to the rim was 100% the best case scenario. He went under to try to get protection from the rim and it didn't work. I really don't want to play the low BBIQ thing or the if you think this you clearly didn't play the game thing, but considering the circumstance that was 100% the best look that was there to be had in that situation. It's inarguable.

The The Flush play was a called set, a five out clear to create a one on one situation, the circumstances are day and night.

Hard to get a shot off in the paint though, guys are going to be hacking. I’d rather Nowell try a floater with  4 seconds left and crash the boards.

My preference is giving it to Mark Smith, he is probably our best option to manufacture a bucket in that scenario.

Next imagine a scenario where you don't need a last second shot to beat an unranked, mediocre team on your home floor.
