I think either Bolden or Hurt will work out. At least, I'm optimistic, but you guys already know that.

yeah that's awesome and stuff and id love to win the Big 7 next year with a super awesome rim protector but the guys we have will most likely suck or not be able to work offensively or suck with gip on the floor. we don't have a guy like youre talking about.
I didn't get that Big XII fixed before you caught it.

well, don't be. we have essentially the same team as last year except hopefully nigel/foster/wundy get better. expect middle of the pack B12 (7??) again. be happy with that. hopefully the year after we can plug in some of these guys down low and they will make a difference. but LOL that they'll start let alone play more than 5 minutes a game with DJamer/Gip on the team.
I think what my friend Mitch is trying to say is that true love is blind.

Lol at anyone that thinks Nigel is a shoo-in to start at PG, mostly likely Jevon and Nigel are going to spilt even minutes.

1. Jevon/Nigel
2. Marcus / Edwards / Nigel / Harris(3pt Specialist)
3. Edwards / Westicles
4. Gip / Bolden (Defensive 5, has a nice medium range jumper)
5. Hurt / DJamer

Play small with Nino and Westicles.

The 4/5 are pretty much the same. Alot is needed from Hurt and Bolden. Bolden needs like 40 more lbs tho.

highly doubt it. they didn't split even minutes at the end of this season and jevon is a total liability. nigel at least showed some upside.

Jevon only had a 1/5th of the practice time. Individuals will really help Jevon out. Jevon's ceiling is a lot higher then the rest of the freshmen. Nigel will end up being a combo guard in the future.

You don't have to go far to find who Jevon compares to and he is going to end up being better.

Tonya Harding, your pessimism is off the charts.....even for my standards.....so be quiet

oscar has said multiple times that we needed more height this year, which was obvious.  So, I think he will do anything he can to get the 2 new guys (Hurt and Bolden) on the court and give them every opportunity to earn a spot.  They may not start at the beginning of the year, but by conference one could be.  Otherwise, you plan on starting Gip and Nino like we had to at the end of the year and that's not good.

Also, I don't see how Wesley does not start somewhere.....

I haven't been this pumped about the big man sitch since November 2010 -- Asprilla, JO, Wally, Curt, Jamar, Potuzak, Nino. We were stacked from one end to the other with elite post talent.

I for one don't think Jevon and Nigel are going to combine for 40 minutes.  Right now I would say 30.   That gives 90 minutes for Foster--Edwards-- Westicles.  We can find someone that can bring the ball up the court for the roughly 10 minutes we don't have a true PG.   I have already said I think Edwards is gonna be good and I think he will be 1 of the top 12 players in the Big12 next year. Right now I am not convinced we play Westicles at the 4 very much or at all and IMO 80 minutes is not enough for MF/JE/WI.

If Hurt is the better of the 2 big men who did not play this year... then I think starting him with Gip would be best.   Id like it if we didn't have Gip and Nino on the floor much together, but that doesn't meen it cant and wont happen.   I think Gip will get roughly 27-28 minutes.  The other 52-53 minutes will be up for grabs.

Man, what if, Edwards can handle the rock fairly well?  He is known as a slasher w/ great athletic ability.

What if, he took over some of the pg duties....he would be a bigger pg that could use his height and strength and athleticism to drive and penetrate and I can envision lobs to Hurt/Boldon for monster dunks? (sorry, no lobs to Gib, cause I think he struggles to jump)

Pg: Edwards/Thomas
Sg: Foster/Nigel
Sf: Westicles/Edwards
Pf: Gip/Nino
C: Hurt/Boldon

C: Hurt/Boldon

this won't happen. gip is playing 5 because he is a grown ass man who has done it for 3 years in the big 12. were not starting some juco/transfer guys in their first year over a former B12 HM player who averaged like 15 points a game the year before.

yeah, itd be nice, but it wont happen.

sure, it sounds pessimistic but I think its just more realistic. the big men are going to need a lot more work to get time than the guards are. Edwards and jevon have a greater chance of starting or playing big minutes. nino and gip are seniors and will play most of the minutes.

I'm thinking that Hurt/Bolden/Foster/Westicles will get a pretty even ratio of monster alley-oop dunks.

I'm not sure he's a lob guy, but I don't think "struggles to jump" describes the new slimmer Gip at all. Gip dunked a lot this year. A lot.

I will be disappointed if Gip isn't at least All Big 12 2nd team next year.

I can't remember many alley-oop dunks for Gip this year. More of jump off of two feet and crush the rim type of dunk. Good for lots of fistpump moments

No, Foster. Gip is a fairly close 2nd.

I know he didn't do much at Gtown, but just look at the teams/coaches that wanted Bolden.

Gip is clearly 2nd, but I'm not sure if I would say he's fairly close. Foster is just insanely good.
