Rick Reilly looks down on him.The only thing I truly miss about Posnanski is not having him writing at the star simultaneously with Whitlock because from about 1994-1999 it was the easiest way for a Tuck (racist) to accidentally self-identify.huh? that post makes no sense.Tucks loathed the brash and aggressive Whitlock and loved the over-sentimental Posnanski.

I don't think it's fair to say Posnanski is a bad writer. I read The Machine (which is a book).
nope sorry. if you dislike whitlock and like posnanski you're a racist. sorry, racist (not).
I think he over-sentimental, sure. But over-sentimental is not synonymous with "bad", if we're talking about sportswriters, imo.

However, being black and successful and appearing to be anything less than contrite or grateful or even worse challenging the status quo (like whitlock) there is a group of people who are uncomfortable with that - whether or not they are even aware of it.
I don't know how anyone reads any sports writer. How's that rank on the racism scale?
Interesting how much fans and the university have embraced Sam for coming out, yet this: http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2014/02/11/aclu-lawsuit-missouri-gay-marriage-ban/5390891/

Probably horrified that Michael Sam "happened" to "their team."
KU is right on par with Notre Dame ... when it comes to adding additional conference revenue
Beer pro tip: never drink anything other than BL, coors, pbr, maybe a few others that I'm forgetting
Last Tuesday, Michael Sam Sr. was at a Denny's near his home outside Dallas to celebrate his birthday when his son sent him a text message.Dad, I'm gay, he wrote. The party stopped cold. "I couldn't eat no more, so I went to Applebee's to have drinks," Sam Sr. said. "I don't want my grandkids raised in that kind of environment."I'm old-school," he added. "I'm a man and a woman type of guy." As evidence, he pointed out that he had taken an older son to Mexico to lose his virginity. On Sunday night, just after Michael Sam announced his intention to make sports history, his father was still struggling with the news.Sam Sr. loves his son, and he said he hoped his son made it to the N.F.L. "As a black man, we have so many hurdles to cross," he said. "This is just one he has to cross."But he expressed discomfort at the very idea of a gay N.F.L. player, even if the player was his son. He grumbled that Deacon Jones, the Hall of Fame defensive end renowned for his toughness, "is turning over in his grave."
Anyone else see this as a non story? Really having a hard time caring about this one.
