I grew up listening to an absurd amount of Motown and Bob Dylan. Like my dad had all of these on records, then went out in like 1990 and bought a redic 5 disc CD changer to his hi-fi setup and bought what had to have been like $1000 worth of CDs. He bought a Beatles box set, a Motown box set, a bunch of Aretha, a Mahalia Jackson gospel box set, the entire Bob Dylan catalogue and a bunch of other stuff.
Anyways, I never could hate Motown, but I kind of ended up hating the Beatles and Bob Dylan for awhile because I just thought they were kind of played out. I needed to come back to them and rediscover them on my own. The only reason I got back in to Dylan was Jimi Hendrix had some quote about Highway 61 Revisited and so I went back and listened to it again.
Anyway, I got back in to Otis Redding again today and damn. He has a really great voice and wrote some nice arrangements, and I thought he was overrated. I was wrong.
Who have you come back to? What songs have you come back to?
