just as many things as possible lying around the house that could potentially bring up the topic of horse racing and/or the movie Seabiscuit

I've been fortunate thus far to avoid having to use "Who is your favorite actor?" as an account login security question.

Way different cases. Denzel has the same ticks in all of his movies, from Malcolm X to Remember the Titans to Training Day. Everytime he hears something he doesn't like, he turns his head quickly to the side while scoffing. Seriously, he does it as every character he's ever played. And he always gets really still when he gets mad, and stares at you. Leo plays similar characters while still making them so different from one another. He doesn't have the same ticks, and they just seem like completely different people. I feel like if you picked up Coach Boone and made him into a personal security guard that lost his family, he'd be Creasy Bear.

Denzel takes it to the extreme with the ticks, mannerisms, etc., but it seems that Leo has played the same two or three types of characters in all of his movies.

It also bothers me that he's never attempted to do a comedy. I understand that it's a completely different type of acting, but great actors like Hanks, DeNiro, Cranston, or even McConaughey have managed to do it.

Growing Pains.

Oh, sure. It's not like I believed that I shot somebody, but I absolutely know what it feels like to pull the trigger and take someone's life.

You understand how it feels to shoot someone as much as a person who has actually committed a murder?

I understand it more. It's an actor's job. A guy who's lived through the horror of Vietnam has not spent his life preparing his mind for it. He's some punk. Most guys were borderline criminal or poor, and that's why they got sent to Vietnam. It was all the poor, wretched kids who got beat up by their dads, guys who didn't get on the football team, couldn't finagle a scholarship. They didn't have the emotional equipment to handle that experience. But this is what an actor trains to do. I can more effectively represent that kid in Vietnam than a guy who was there.

I enjoyed Dustin Hoffman in Rain Man, and in Hook. He's a good one.

That Kilmer interview with Klosterman is the best interview I've ever read.  Amazing.  I don't read many interviews though.  Val was great in a lot of stuff.  Mad Mardigan, Doc Holiday, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Ice Man, Victor Cunth.  I really like the guy.

I hate Hoffman.  I haven't seen him in anything that I wouldn't have preferred he not be in.  Not one thing.

The key to screen acting is all in the eyes.  Stage acting is in the core.

I don't really get the hype over Jonah Hill's role in WOWS.  It's like, the same role he played in Superbad and 21 Jump Street, but this time he's wildly rich.

Yeah Gaia eyes looked like they were going to pop right out at one point in that scene.  I mean when she opened her eyes for that brief moment her eyes said "you're actually choking me!"
