Ungulates (like moose), however majestic, are not at the apex of the food chain.

i saw USC play there maybe 7 years ago?  it was neat.  i bet i would've thought it was cooler if I was a bigger college hoops fan.

To be fair, I'll bet they were playing some pud team that never wins.  If it was even a moderately important game, they would be there supporting team.  If I squint I think I can make out the name of the pud team on the scoreboard.  Arizona.  Oh my...

Oh man, I would've been so steamed 8 years ago...

But on a serious note, this game took place during the biggest blizzard in the region in 80 years. Not a big deal by itself, but there was also a chemical spill on Naismith Drive that blocked access to AFH from that direction.  Not a big deal by itself, but they also had to set up a perimeter to keep people from entering the hazardous area.  3 people were shot with bean bags whilst trying to penetrate the barricade. 1 guy died of sepsis.

Head a rumor from my cousin that goes to KU over the weekend. Sometimes they leave the doors open for practice and two weeks ago when he walked in, they were doing a specific drill that they call "30 minutes of Bow's on the nose." They bring in some sensei to run the drill. All strike tactics for the team to "defend themselves" using the elbow. I guess sensei and massa self were having a good chuckle together during the drill.

4 or 5 years ago my buddy from Indiana (a big Hoosiers fan) had one of his high school buddies in town for the weekend.  They decide they would like to see Allen Field House, I guess they wanted to compare it to Assembly Hall.  Long story short, my buddy starts getting violently ill about 30 min before they were going to leave for the game. (I imagine subconsciously his body was trying to avoid that shithole) After some persuading, I agreed to take his buddy up to Lawrence to watch Nebraska vs KU.
A few minutes before the game is about to start everyone stands up for the KU fight song, well everyone but me.  I guess the 85 year old lady sitting on the other side of my took offense to this.  She said, "Don't tell me you are a Nebraska fan"  I replied, "No Ma'am". "Our you rooting for KU?".  Again I replied, "No Ma'am".  At this point she is completely confused.  "So who are you rooting for then?". "Well ma'am,  I am a K-State fan so I guess I am rooting for the scoreboard".  Even more puzzled she says "I don't understand".  I said, "look it's simple I am rooting for the scoreboard to come down out of the rafters and get them all"  Needless to say that end any further conversation.

Just run film of the McElbow twins.  Especially that one where Jacob Pullen violently assaulted one of the McMoron twins' elbow with his face.

It's interesting that bluebloods like UNC and Kentucky build new arenas, but an upper level tier 2 team like KU has to play in an arena that's 40 years past it's usefulness because they can't afford to build new.

Really puts things in perspective about who rules the college basketball landscape.

40 years old?  I had a KU fan tell me the Allen Field house is one of the oldest college basketball arenas and it was built over 100 years ago.   Also he told me Naismith invented basketball at KU.   I think Naismith invented the rules of basketball at a YMCA somewhere in Canada or Pennsylvania.

Anyway if his story is true then Allen Field house was built while Naismith was still the coach and Phog Allen was  coaching at Baker University.  I guess they just knew Phog would be a such a great coach they would lure him to Lawrence by building a stadium in his name.

You can't make this stuff up.

Don't count me in that; I just like the smell in here.  Sort of a mix between new car smell and cat musk.

Yep you found it.

Problem is if you don't have a seat immediately obscured by the beam ("only" one or two of those) you can't see if people in front of you stand up because if you do the beam is in your way. Advantage of being on bleacher seats though is the mice have a harder time climbing and don't scurry over your feet as much.

Heard a rumor that the KUAD had to hire a special cleaning crew to clean up after all of the K-State fans who pissed themselves during the game.  Apparently the urine smell was so thick that they're debating whether or not to even let K-State fans inside of AFH anymore.

The homie went with an "I know you are but what am I" joke. Is beems a kid like that trenton kid on twitter? If he is a kid this definitely changes things.
