Post your Fog Allen Gymnasium experiences here:

Let me preface this by saying I am the definition of a gracious opposing fan.  Never yell, hardly even clap.  I have been twice, and can say both experiences were dreadful.

First time, was on crutches with a broken leg, and got things thrown at me as I crutched in to my seat, then while attempting to get down the aisle, was knocked off balance by a lady to the point the guy in the row in front of me had to literally catch me.  The lady turned around, saw what she'd done, and didn't so much as say sorry before resuming her conversation.

Second time I as literally not allowed to enter the arena without accepting some stupid KU shirt they were handing out.

Both times, had people cheering AT us and making rude comments even as we continued to be gracious (not to mention we were down by like 30) for the entire game.

I personally have no plans of ever going back, and vehemently disagree that KU fans treat visitors like any other team.  KU just has too many Tshirt fans who live vicariously through KU basketball and thus think they are better than you, and they take every opportunity to let you know about it because it lets them sleep at night.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure it's a cool environment to experience and I would be surprised if anyone gave you any serious flack with your daughter there, but my experiences have thus far only augmented my hatred for that fanbase.

Drove by it once with my architecture friend. He said he wouldn't step a foot in there because it looked like it could collapse any day now.

Went to this game http://scores.espn.go.com/ncb/boxscore?gameId=310052305.

Was during break, student section was filled with native americans that got free tickets (haskell dance team was the halftime entertainment. was cool.)

I was having a good time, until the end of the game when KU was up 40 but still driving the lane and shooting ridic shots just to hit 100, which kinda ticked me off.

Overall, cool place to watch a game. Would recommend.

Oh, thought we were only talking about KSU-KU games. :dunno:

I've also seen them play Texas in 2009, North Texas in 2010, and Georgetown this year. They were mean to the Georgetown fan that sat by us even when they were up 20. :frown:

Would you say they are the basketball equivalent to Raiders fans?

did this really deserve a gpc copy and paste? seems like a pretty reasonable thread to start on your own.

Went to the 2006 game.  Smuggled my KSU flag and collapsible flag pole in, hoping for a miracle even though we had just played the worst game I had ever seen against Nebraska earlier in the week.  After we won, I went nuts waving my flag.  Some woman yelled something at me, but I couldn't understand her.  I don't speak meth.

Will never go back.  I like being able to say I have never been to a game in AFH where KSU lost.

The last time I went, I stood up to cheer and someone put chewed gum on my seat so I sat back down in it.  Classy.

A good portion of the seats are really crappy and, of course, the fans are obnoxious.  There's a reason it's called Snob Hill and I will never go back.

I went last year and the place is like an old 1920's farmhouse that had a minor facelift and some fresh paint slapped on it. I mean I get that it's old and historic and all but the concourse's were very cramped and stuffy.

"Hey is that my friend over there? I cant tell because there are like 15 pillars in the way"

Don't even get me started on the bathrooms or parking situation.

No doubt.  It's definitely not a place you'd want to host the 2A state championship in.

Have been 3 times.

1st time when I got home my mom told me I smelled like urine afterwards.

2nd time my dad said the same thing.

3rd time my wife said I smelled like burnt popcorn and urine.

That place is a morgue, no desire to go.
I once blew clove smoke in a guy's face that cut in front of me in the line to KJ's.

Went in 2004. We didn't get destroyed, lost by 10 I think. Frank Richards had something like 20 points.

Have had a few opportunities to see the Cats play in that dump, unfortunately none were a win.

A couple stick out. Went to the Beasley game and had amazing seats (company tickets). When we arrived and took our seats, an old blue-hair female KU fan looked at me like I was a leper and made her husband switch seats so he was stuck next to me.

Last time I went was the pre-2012 Cotton Bowl game (left for Dallas immediately following game). We left before the whole Rock Chalk crap and as we were walking down the steps an old man heckled us. I immediately turned around and said, "We're headed to the Cotton Bowl to watch a top-10 football team, something you wouldn't know anything about old man."

Don't care if I ever go back to that hell hole.
