I drink bourbon whiskey and don't care of it's hickish because I rough ridin' grew up in Kansas.  Also, 'Merica.  I'd probably even choose this (or Scotch) at the wedding because I'm not going to look like a dweeb sipping tequilla and all of the other suggestions in this thread SUCK.

The center one is Dornfelder Traubenbrand,  (by Mischler & Raudonat, as are the rest) a World award winning brandy.

From left to right, a red wine based Advent liquor (one shot a day, seriously), Christmas plum-cinnamon liquor, the brandy, a blood orange liquor, blueberry liquor.

We tried close to twenty different liquors, shnapps, and brandies. Only one or two were anything less than delicious. I may not leave Germany...
