Don't do this to yourself.

I'll do what I want.

Also of note:.

In his previous 10 seasons, Self's defenses have averaged giving up only 0.94 points per possession. This year the Hawks are at 1.02 points per possession, the worst of any Bill Self defense since he's been at Kansas. They have TO problems that no other Self team has had, not only because they turn it over, but because they don't force TOs either.

Granted, they are shooting it at a ridiculous rate and K-State will have to rely on a trend of great defense at home.

But I want to be clear; its also a bunch of BS to think we can't win this game or we have to perfect game to win it. K-State is good enough to beat KU this season. I understand that its difficult with so many years of getting beat down and the 3 wins we have being partially due to strange phenomena (Wooly weirdness, Beasley/Walker, Pullen career game), but its also time (like most rivalries) that K-State starts to have some quality team wins in this series. I know I'm fighting against years of piss poor showings in this thing, but its time for this to change. (and I'm going to continue to believe this until it does or until I die, whichever comes first).

We won in 2008 at home, we won in 2011 at home, we win tonight in 2014 at home. That's my basis.

Up until about 15 min ago when I started going through this thread I was thinking we lose by 7-13pts.  After reading the zeal from _Fan and him backing it up with science and such, I am thinking we can get the W!!!  :bball:

KState in 5 home conf games =  TO% Def 19.2, TO% Off 17.0
KU in 5 road conf games = TO% Def  14.0, TO% Off 20.9
Although we are negative overall in TO% differ, we are +2.2% in the home games.    Most of KU's poor -6.9% differ comes from the Isu game where they had 24 TOs to only 8 for Isu, but this is one category we have a good shot at winning 2nite

KU makes 50.2% on 2pt shots in Big 12 road games.  Texas held them to 37% when they won.   The other 4 teams KU played on the road are on not real good defensively (Those 4 are 5th, 7th,8th,9th in 2pt Def, and those 4 teams are bottom half in Def eFG).  Its been noted that Ksu has been very good with 2pt Defense and especially at home (last 4 teams have shot 35% or under in the OOD).
Only 28% of KU's shots are from behind the arc.   If we can hold KU to 40.0% (even 42.0) or under from 2pt and 30.0 or under from 3pt, we are gonna have a very good shot to win this game

Getting Shane going is gonna be big.   He is only at 44% eFG in league play, but he will have the nice matchup offensively with Ellis and Traylor being on him tonight.   NuWill knocking down a few 3s also would be a big boost.   He has struggled so bad vs KU and is only 1-12 in 3 games at the OOD vs them.  Coming into 2night, he has made 15 of his last 30 from 3pt

I think the key for us to win is Shane. He has to play well and stir the drink for us to win.

I think it's also key that if he is playing bad oscar needs to sit him like he did in the Texas game.

If we discussed it already I missed it, anyone know why Jevon got so few minutes Saturday?

They were playing Nigel though, which makes me wonder if Jevon wasn't playing well in practice, he was sick, he was in trouble, or they were frustrated with his free throw shooting.

Self's daughter got engaged Friday night. Do you think he hesitated for even a split second before leaving her to prepare for his Super Bowl, or has he even talked to her?

another reason that Southwell has to play well, is that it might be good to play Nino at the 5 some, to throw three different bodies at Embiid.

Self's daughter won't sit behind the bench at games because of the foul language Bills abuses his players with.

only way we would even think about playing Nino at the 5 is if Gip is in foul trouble and DJamer is being very ineffective.  Embild has 7 inches on Nino.   Even Nino guarding Tarik Black (when Joel is on bench), he is giving up about 35 pounds and 4 inches.    Playing Shane/Nino together can be effective at times, but it's a tough matchup vs KU

KU plays better when they play us. We play worse when we play KU. These are facts. It's science, or mojo, or some combination thereof. Either way, it's embarrassing. And KU is already the better team so there's that... We'll keep it close for a while before losing by 12-15.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, K-State fans could have beheaded the entire KU team at midcourt, and K-State fans would be celebrating it this morning.  They are the ISIS of Big 12 fanbases.

Don't expect Shane to have a good offensive game tonight, bigger bigs tend to take a lot of energy out of him defensively. He needs to be good defensively tonight, find scoring some where else.

worried about foul trouble for both Gip and DJamer.  Does home court help with this? Not sure.

I'm holding out about a 10% chance of a Cats W.  The talent gap is obvious and their height may very well overwhelm our guys.  And then there is the coaching match up.

But dammit I want this one bad.  eff those dorks, lets send them back to their urinal shack.

Insidery sources tell me Jamari Taylor will be suspended for tomorrow night's game after being involved in an off-the-court altercation last night. Details not to be made public by the team.
