I never said I hated Scott Drew. He's great at getting talent and has had some great seasons at Baylor, but his teams also often lose too many games they shouldn't and end up in the NIT. It's a fair critique and doesn't take away from a pair of Elite 8s.

And both times Baylor played a 14, 11, and 10 seed to make it to the Elite Eight.

So?  We didn't beat anybody good when we made it to the elite 8 and then we lost to an 8 seed.

We lost to a 5 seed. BYU and Xavier were both good teams that year.

Hey, pisspants, don't you realize that telling a team you are beating/have beaten that they are overrated actually downgrades the achievement of your team?  I mean, wouldn't it be better to endorse the skill/achievement of your team rather than merely downplay that of your opponent?  Pro tip:  You want the teams you beat to be as highly ranked as possible, particularly after you beat them

Baylor has been first or second in the league in terms of talent for the last few years.

I don't think they are more talented than KU, but Drew has signed at least 1 Top 75 recruit per year since 2005 (several times 2 or 3).

i love this talking point.  everyone who repeats it acts like it's some revolutionary discovery from the world of logic. and yet, they can't enjoy chanting something as simple as "overrated" in unison.  it boggles the mind.

I don't think they are more talented than KU, but Drew has signed at least 1 Top 75 recruit per year since 2005 (several times 2 or 3).

it seems to me that people are consistently overrating players that Drew has signed. For all of the top 100s he's signed, those Baylor players have been worse than bad in the league, makes the KU pros look like the dream team. He's done a good job of identifying top players with warts and making them fit what they do. We have enough evidence to see that these hyped players aren't any better than anyone else in the conference. His best player was a juco transfer.

I also think part of the issue is that these hyped recruits he lands are usually bigs with some skill but they are hyped because of their size and being a 7 foot face up player is a he'll of a lot easier in high school. He's done a great job with point guards though.

Drew just seems to never be able to get over them hump to be a great team.  His 200lb 7 footers are usually pretty sorry when they play against our physical bigs too.  That said, the turnaround he has had at Baylor is impressive.  He, like Briles, inherited a pile of dogshit.
