I'm pretty sure he's Will 2.0..He has the same quickness of Will and is shorter. Both KU and K-State missed on a big Kansas recruit with Ron Baker. He is better than both.

Being a road fan is an artform and not everyone can pull it off correctly. None of them can be as awesome as ScottCyclone and I at Bramlage in 2012. I didnt mind the trash talk directed toward us, I just made sure everyone around me was trashtalking my team correctly. (Example: Royce White is not a rapist, he mugged a mall cop at the MOA and stole a laptop). Intelligence and accuracy is important.

I mean, wouldn't it be better to endorse the skill/achievement of your team rather than merely downplay that of your opponent? it seems to me that people are consistently overrating players that Drew has signed. For all of the top 100s he's signed, those Baylor players have been worse than bad in the league, makes the KU pros look like the dream team. He's done a good job of identifying top players with warts and making them fit what they do. We have enough evidence to see that these hyped players aren't any better than anyone else in the conference. His best player was a juco transfer.
I also think part of the issue is that these hyped recruits he lands are usually bigs with some skill but they are hyped because of their size and being a 7 foot face up player is a he'll of a lot easier in high school. He's done a great job with point guards though.

Drew just seems to never be able to get over them hump to be a great team. His 200lb 7 footers are usually pretty sorry when they play against our physical bigs too. That said, the turnaround he has had at Baylor is impressive. He, like Briles, inherited a pile of dogshit.

I like almost everyone on our team more than Smart at this point. Brown is my favorite player by far and Nash is much less maddening than in previous years.
Nash is having a great season. During yesterday's broadcast they showed a graphic showing the sharp decline in his 3 point attempts by season coinciding with the sharp increase in his FG% and efficiency. That being said Smart and Forte are big reasons for this.

Agreed that it should be fun. Vegas opened the line at OSU -3.5 which is kind of surprising. I figured OU would be favored since it's in Norman and OSU has struggled since Cobbins went out.

It’s been a rough few days for the K-State hoops squad. First, they lost a heartbreaker in Texas on Tuesday when Jonathan Holmes splashed in a three ball to win it at the buzzer. Then, they had to travel to Hilton Coliseum in Ames, Iowa, which is never a fun place to play. Despite trailing by a dozen at halftime, the Cats scrapped their way back into it, and the teams went back and forth for most of the second half. However, the Cyclones were able to pull out a gritty win behind a lot of threes and free throws.
K-State comes home to play Texas Tech on Tuesday, so I expect to see Bramlage rockin’. It’s only the second week of class, so you can’t pull the homework excuse yet, and we really, really need a win. Honestly though, it’s Tech; as wary as I am of writing an opponent off in this conference, that’s exactly what I’m going to do. We’ll beat Tech; what we need to worry about is the rest of our road trips.
We’ve played four conference road games thus far, and have come out on top just once. That one hardly even counts, either; it was at TCU. Granted, two of the other three were in Lawrence and Ames, both notoriously hostile environments, but we’re far from out of the woods when it comes to travel. We have yet to play at West Virginia, Baylor, Oklahoma, Tech, or Oklahoma State, and we’re gonna have to do pretty well in those games.
Road performance is strongly considered by the NCAA Tournament Selection Committee, so if K-State’s on the bubble, a losing away record could be a dealbreaker. After that 11-game win streak, it seemed we were a lock for the tournament, but at the moment, nothing’s certain. If we drop more than two of the remaining road games, we could be in danger of missing the tournament.
We’re into the final third of the regular season, so every game is crucial from here on out. The grinding Big 12 conference rotation is sure to take a toll on pretty much every team, and the young, inexperienced Wildcats could be a recipe for disaster.
Don’t get me wrong, I think this team has the potential not only to play in the tourney, but to make some noise, but getting there will be tricky. It’s going to come down to the poise of oscar and his men, especially on the road. Will Thomas Gipson step up when it matters? Will Marcus Foster continue to silence enemy crowds with well-timed threes? Will Jevon Thomas avoid turnovers and make a few free throws?
Like I said, be there in Bramlage to back the squad and send ‘em off to Morgantown with a confidence-building win (knock on wood). On February 1st, they’ll face the first in a series of road tests that will determine whether they spend March dancing or home on the couch.

When I said its going to cost him I mean he's going to do that late and either be called for a foul or will be so far out of position that he'll give up a layup, which should have happened tonight.

OU went on a 11-1 run to make it 81-78 and had the ball with 1:20 to play. But OU only had 5 pts in final 11 poss of game
Harris hit the big 3 to send it into OT. Then WV got 10 pts in their 8 OT poss
The game had some similarity to our game with WV. We and OU had poor D and poor O in the first half.
We battled back and made it 1pt game with 3min left (68-67) then WV outplayed us the final 3 min. Tonight OU battled back, game went into OT and WV outplayed them in the 5 min of OT. 1 Difference was we never got the lead. OU got the lead and let WV hit the big 3 to sent it into OT

WVirg just doesn't turn the ball over much, especially at home. Only 33 TOs in 290 Poss last 4 home games (11.3%) and they only had 2 TOs in the 1st half tonight.
They remind me a little bit of past Mizzou teams. Score the ball pretty decent at home. Their lack of defense and some toughness gives them problems on the road. Been playing Dibo, a stretch 4, more of late. Mizzou did not turn the ball a lot and the year they were a top 10 team, they led the nation in A/TO ratio for a lot of the season

Yeah, we definitely can. But OSU is so down and out right now....I'd rather kick them while they are down. Stillwater is never an easy place to play. I'd like to have it as easy as possible, and OSU without Smart on a 5 game losing streak can't get much easier.

Conf record and overall season >> tourney success, imo. The tourney is a crapshoot. You get far by being consistently good and earning good seeds, eventually it comes together for a big run.

Our odds at getting 6th are extremely low. WV is likely gonna get that. Even if WV beat Ku and finished 10-8.... a 10-8 Ksu team would finish higher because we beat Texas ( WV lost at home vs Texas). We need to win tonight or getting 2nd/3rd is gonna be tough. 11-7 likely is not gonna get the 3 seed

This league is strange sometimes, but it just shows how decent to good the Big 12 is from 1-9.
Tech OR% was twice as good as Isu, but Tech TO% was nearly twice as bad as Isu. But then Tech 20-24 to Isu 9-19 on FTs

It could have something to do with KU having really great athletes that can get to the rim and the other team has to foul them to prevent the player from scoring.

KU-Tech is another great example of the value in using tempo free stats.
With a score of 64-63, most people would think that this was a defensive battle, however the opposite was true because the game only had 54 possessions. Both teams shot the ball really well (both over 50% eFG%) and both teams really hit the offensive glass (both 46% OR%). As a result KU won the efficiency battle 1.19 to 1.17 points per possession. Scoring at that rate is extremely rare against a Bill Self coached team, they give up 1.15 or more ppp 2-3 times per season at the most.

Weird that they went back to it for a couple of possessions late in the game. Weird thing is that position was the default before the expansion. Now that it goes even higher (and that place is extremely vertical), they usually use a better angle.

It is. They do basically everything else really well offensively. They shot it well, espcially from 2-pt range. They are great to great on the offensive glass. They're serviceable from 3-pt range. They get to the line a lot. Plus, they get a lot of easy buckets off of turnovers because they have the studs to finish on the break.
Pretty amazing that they're kenpoms No. 6 offense despite all the turnovers.

I would rather play BU back to back than play ISU again in the 4/5 games. For that to happen, we need UT to lose at Tech on Saturday, which is possible. We would win the 3 seed tie breaker due to our head to head record against the #1 team (KU).

Baylor WV and Osu all finish 8-10....... Baylor went 3-1 vs the other 2, so they get the 6 seed. Ok St would then get the 7 as they swept WV
As mentioned, Ksu gets the 3 seed if us, Isu and Texas all end 11-7. All 3 of us went 2-2 vs other 2. Texas and us beat KU(1 seed), so that knocks Isu out of the picture.
