A nearly completed Big 12 schedule:

With only one game left, this chart gives us a pretty good representation of what each Big 12 team really is. The Cats at only .01 ppp better than our Big 12 opponents (over nearly 1150 possessions) is a bit disappointing, but I suppose it shows 10-7 to this point is a pretty good accomplishment. K-State's offense finishing down with Tech in efficiency (TCU really doesn't count as a Big 12 team) is probably this season's biggest disappointment, but fortunately K-State figured out how to play pretty good defense and great defense in the OOD.

Most of the time at the end of the season points per possession differential tells the story and this year is especially true. If you want to rank the league, those numbers give a pretty good picture of where each teams actually finished.

K-State and Texas finished in a very similar position and both were defensive teams with below average offenses trying to make it in an offensive league. Both sat in pretty good positions at mid-season, but slid in the 2nd half with the Cats losing 4 of their last 7 and Texas losing 5 of their last 9. The Cats' offense just wasn't enough this season and yet the Cats finished just a game away from 3rd place. It may not have made a big difference in the big picture, but IMHO the difference between finishing tied for 3rd (and winning the tiebreaker) and sliding to 5th made yesterday's poor 2nd half and loss to Baylor even more frustrating. Next season the Cats must find a way to maintain great defense, but ramp up the offensive efficiency significantly if we want to avoid another 8/9 seed season and losing on the road against the league's better teams.

_FAN, could you compare all of the off. PPP and def. PPP of this year's team vs. our teams since '07-'08?

Did not expect our FTR to be up that high this year, especially in comparison to last year.

We pretty much have just followed the national trend:

I cannot believe WVU actually finished .500. It's like they're two different teams. The FG% was just atrocious, and consistency was not a word in that team's vocabulary.

*sigh* gonna be a fun B12 tourney though, eh' boys?!
