I will add that if we move Sams, it should be a permanent move, as it would be the best for everyone. Admit trying Sams at qb was a mistake, cut our losses, and move on.
I would love to see Sams as our starting QB, cause he's fun to watch.  I do think the more he plays the position and gets more of the playbook, the better he'll get.  But if we really care about Sams future,
then we need to see him at a position that will help him get to the next level.  Safety, Corner, WR, RB(?) or even an MLB; that will help his future much more than QB.  :th_twocents:

[/quote?]   I disagree because he has a chance to be our best QB ever.  Jake doesnt have that kind of potential.  I would much rather go with potential over the safe pick, especially since Sams has a good shot at reaching his potential if given an opportunity.

Let's get back to discussing what our record will be next year.

I see the UT and BU games as key games.

Both may have new coaches.

An interesting research project would be to find out how well new coaches do against Snyder.  I suppose you would have to throw out KU and possibly Baylor to control for poop situations.

I think it comes down to winning all the winnable road games (ISU, WVU, TCU) then beating two of UT, OSU, @ Baylor, @ OU.  Winning 3 of those games wins the conference.
Does anyone but me worry about this team...Rose Bowl winners and other BCS wins.  They will have the mostly freshman team from two yrs ago coming back on defense.

It's amazing what a win against a michigan team with a god awful defense can do for your confidence.

quick research (from 95 forward).  in games against new coaches in their first year (meaning, not the first time Snyder played the new coach, but Snyder playing the new coach in the new coach's first year)........

19-2

 :Wha:

losses to the weasel, panini.

wins against:  Barnett, Schnellenberger(sp), Blake, Leach, Tubbs, Klings, Simmons, Mack, McCarney, Rhodes, Every KU coach (4 of them), Pinks, Solich, Callahan, Kevin Steele, Guy Morriss
Pete Carroll?

I'm assuming OSU is bringing a ton back BUT road games are still road games.  I don't care who you are teams with new coaches are rarely world beaters unless UT brings in a Cam Newton which I don't believe is even out there.

We don't lose more than 2 big 12 games next year unless someone gets hurt.

I think we'll see new wrinkles out of the run pass options.

just about every year of Snyder II we've seen pretty good new wrinkles each year.

DT wildcat

CK That long mesh read option that we abused miami with.

CK QB power

This year it was attacking the seams with the H backs.

They'll have something new next year.

ProudMommy4#LIFE favorited your Tweet
2h:  Waters had a QB rating of 191.55 last night vs UM. Next best against UM's D was 157, and ave for the season was 123.85. Pretty decent.

Hey jack stack. Get the eff out of here, you miserable wanker.
Why would I be miserable?  We won a bowl game and Waters played well.  If one game decides the starting QB, Sams shouldve been locked in after Baylor and OSU, especially since he ran the same plays over and over.

We didn't have any choice but to let Sams take over OSU/BU.

We could have played Waters.

It would have been dink and dunk city
I think the fact that he did it without top 2 targets makes the argument a lot more valid.

It was a completely different game plan. We passed to keep defenses honest and targeted our FB and TE more, because they were safer throws.

But he's clearly the best qb, right?

A Jake Waters who is allowed to throw downfield is a better option than a Daniel Sams who is allowed to run one play, from one formation. Now, I think it's bullshit that Sams is so limited by the play calling and I would like to see him run the offense that we ran against Baylor, but for whatever reason, that isn't happening.
