It happens a lot, but looks bad on our performance numbers. You know, the conversation of "what could you have doen differently to keep him enrolled? Answer; nothing!" followed by a  from the boss. 

doesn't happen at state institutions. So I don't think that I would be so quick to compare.

Are you guys really this small minded? State schools and for profits all have recruiters. Schools are accredited based on the type of school. If you're regionally accredited, then you're as legit as it gets. Ppl rack up debt at state schools too. Also, since 2010, for profits were forced to change the way they enroll. The government made the changes. You can't be compensated for performance, but by competencies. Do some research fellas.

Give me some examples of for-profit colleges in KC.

University of Phoenix, Pinnacle, Wright business college, devry, etc. Mine actually has sports teams tho in salina. If you want to ban schools, ban the naia. They charge $20,000 a year and try and bait you in on $6,000 baseball scholarships.

Why are the for-profits a big deal?

Cause ppl like ell think they're leeches for financial aid. Not everyone is a traditional student.Some ppl have families early, need to work to provide, etc. For profits can work around those schedules to help students graduate in a timely manner. They have night classes, online resources, and more. They get more of a bad rap for what they use to be before the laws were changed.

I, evidently, have three bros that are indentured servants to architecture and engineering firms toiling daily in the earthy fields of computer drafting and 3D modeling for $40-$50k per yr and a bro who is getting Django'ed to the tune of somewhere in the $60k's, as I type this, as a IT guy for a bank.  All who went to DeVry for like 11 months and had no other college.

Seems like not all of it is bad
