MLS fans are such idiots. This list is horrible. Best MLS rivalry is California Clasico with Portland-Seattle close second. After that, DC-NY, etc. LA-Seattle? GTFO. That's as much of a rivalry as SKC-Seattle. SKC-RSL is a bigger rivalry than LA-Seattle imo.

The list is fine. California Clasico is well beyond it's height as a mainstream rivalry. MLS fans like general fans of every sport place more emphasis on nationally televised games and playoff matches. Outside of 2012 that rivalry has meant nothing nationally since San Jose had to close up shop for two years. It's been over a decade since San Jose meant anything to anybody outside of the state of California. LA-Seattle isn't traditional but they are the two glamor franchises now and they frequently play in high stakes high profile matches.

LA-SJ games are consistently 4-3 and 4-4 type scores. POR-SEA also highly entertaining. On top of that, the hatred is there. They're by far my two favorite matches to watch.

Since it's a "power ranking" I think LA-Seattle belongs. If it was just best overall rivalries I agree with sunny.

It's kind of like how if you asked for the NFLs best rivalries right now SF-Seattle has to be on the list, but historically not so much.
