Crosspost to Stud Brag thread.  After a disappointing 2023, 2024 was a huge bounce back year setting new annual records for total runs, miles, and vertical.

264 runs
1644 miles
204,203 vertical ft

Average week
5 runs
31.4 miles
3905 ft

Inspired by mocat’s cycling post… put your 2023 running totals in here.

Did you meet your goals?
What do you have planned for 2024?
I would like to run 2 - 3 miles 2-3x per week. Maybe enter a 5K or 10K with one of my kids who is a runner.
currently getting in about 9 miles per week. did a 5K in 2024. hoping to do more this year

I'm so impressed by people that can do this. I am pretty much a daily workout guy, but could never get in to running. It's odd because it seems I would love the isolation. I love to pop in headphones and workout so it seems perfect, but I just can't do it. Reading Tdaver's stats makes my hip and knees hurt also.

Solid year, TD. I miss running but the body has worn out. Waiting for the warmer weather for the roadie miles.

Getting ready for the Speedy PD 10k in Mhk in Aug. Pretty sure this is the longest run I’ve ever done in my life. The humidity was a killer, even at 0630 this morning. Hoping to do 55ish minutes for the 10k

very nice. really hard to get anything done when it's 90+ every day and 80 every night

I’m carrying about 20+ extra lbs from all of my trashcanning and it makes it really hard for me to cope with the heat when it gets over 80 degrees. Even at an  easy/base pace my HR just pegs out. Gonna have to take advantage of early mornings. Maybe I will acclimate to some degree as we get farther into the summer. 40 degrees is probably my favorite temperature for running.

August in Kansas is a tough race date.  Good luck with the training, Sandstone.

I’m with you on the temps.  40F is perfect.  I’m a little spoiled having easy access to elevation/lower temps to escape the heat, but early mornings are definitely the key for summer.

2 and 3 weeks ago we had that magical temp where it's neither hot nor cold. I prefer not to layer up so that's my favorite temp to run in.

I braved the heat today. I did my usual run front half. I walked a lot of the back half. I thought I was able to power through last summer, but I wasn't in the mood for that today. I ran some mornings before work last summer but not consistently. Definitely planning to revisit that. Hopefully it sticks this time.

Did my longest run ever this morning. Started earlier to catch lower temps and humidity. HR almost 20 bpm lower even with similar pace compared to long run one month ago. Felt good.

Not that specific race but a different one covering some of those same trails. November is a perfect time to visit Moab!

I got interested in doing a half this fall with a buddy. Just did my longest run ever yesterday and first 10 miler. I don't think a half is in the cards. I was completely gassed by the end, with hips and ankles barking and feet barely leaving the ground. Achilles tendons sore today. It was quite an accomplishment high for myself though as I am not really a runner. Also this was like 400ft elev gain. Tdaver idk how you do this in crested butte and whatnot

Dude, you're basically already at a half.  You probably have time to plateau a bit to get more comfortable with this distance before going for the 13.

We watched the new jersey shore episode last night and Vinny did a full marathon. If he can do a full then you should be able to AT LEAST do a half, if not a full.
