they just wasted an entire episode on the parallel timeline where nobody knows frackall. but bringing some relevance to the parallel timeline was long overdue. still liked the 'psode
I think des is going to try to get the band back together and make them "feel" it, like Charlie did. Then, they all realize they have a choice to make.....
for sure. not sure we needed a whole hour to get to that point. could have done it in half the time then started the adventures of Sayeed and Desmond.
I learned two things in that episode:
1) The parallel timeline is tied into what is going on in "our" timeline on the island. We kind of knew that already, but Mrs. Widmore tipped off that it's probably more significant that realized. I remember reading something a while back where the creators said that at some point this season, all flashbacks/time travel/future stuff/alt. timeline would stop and it would just be about what's going on at the island. My guess is that we're getting to that point.
2) We know that smoky doesn't like electromagnetic energy (as demonstrated by the pylons). We know that Desmond can withstand a crap ton of it. My guess is that Des is going to attack smoky with a huge burst of electromagnetic energy. How...I don't know. Also, a huge dose of it was released when the hatch was destroyed, so I'm not sure that theory holds up, but it's the best I've got.
I don't know how the candidates fit into all of this.
