Edwards can shoot 3's, tho. And Jevon can get them open!

He shot 26% and 27% his two years at Maine.  Maine.

oscar gets this year and whatever crap-show it ends up being and next year, but next year is #team2015NCAAorbust. Of course if he scrapes a .500 conference record/NIT he's probably going to get at least another year. It is what it is.

Now that it is evident that this team is complete :bs:, the only thing that brings me happiness is looking forward to next year! I think we might be good:

-#55 is gone. (I am no longer using his name)
-We have a front court
-Edwards/Foster dynamic duo scoring threat
-Full season of Jevon who I've heard from insidery source will live up to the bill
-Hopefully Krap is bruced
-#55 is gone.

oscar, I'm giving you a pass this year but if you suck it up next year too, then  :Flamethrower:

A lineup of Edwards, Thomas, Bolden, Hurt, and [insert 5th player here (Clark?)] would beat any 5 that we could put on the court today.

Lot of teams could beat any 5 we put on the court today. Need higher standard.

Get a little better every season.

Except for when you get a thousand times worse, hopefully this doesn't happen very often.

Hearing Edwards, Foster, Westicles, Gip, Hurt. Can you imagine the awesomness?

I've talked to a couple people who have sat in on practices that say Edwards is the real deal. I either forgot or never knew that Edwards played PG at Maine  at times. And based on Jevon's regression (that may be a strong word) I think this would be a really amazing line-up.

I didn't realize that Edwards played point at Maine...do you think he played enough of it to beat out Jevon/Nigel, or would he be more effective being the first guard off the bench?

Serious question... Does our offense require a true PG? It doesn't seem to. Will brings the ball up the court, but often times it seems that after that the 3 guard positions are interchangeable. Same goes for Nigel is in the game. It's a little different with JT since he is so limited shooting the ball.

This could change if we do go to a more traditional 3 out/2 in offense with Hurt and Gip next year, tho...

EDIT: I noticed Wes bringing the ball up a few times the past few games. Point forward?  :dunno:

oscar likes to have a "true" PG, but he's flexible with who brings the ball up.

don't rule DJamer out next year for some big minutes. look at his progression this year. he will be very solid and it will be nice to have some depth at big man.

and his best team played 2 points in Dee Brown and Deron Williams.

I like the potential for Jevon to create easy baskets, something our offense has trouble doing, especially in conference when teams have a pretty good handle on how to defend us. This will be even more of issue next year if we don't have the 3 point threat at the 4 that Shane gives.  I guess I am hoping that Wes can put on a few pounds and continue the improvement in his 3 point shooting and at least give us the option of 4 in - 1 out.

I don't know if they can dboard enough but I love the idea of JT/NJ, Foster, Edwards, Westicles and Gip lineup with all the perimeter guys attacking off the dribble while bouncy Gip looks for drop offs and tip dunks.

really wish he would work on his back to the basket play, though. he seems to have the pick and roll thing down and when he gets to the rim he often finishes. the back to the basket game must be awful because we never give him the ball there. even if he gets just one solid move down, it would be a big help for when gip goes out and DJamer comes in. gip was pretty effective in using one move his freshman year for the most part, then evolved.

I wouldn't be surprised if Marcus is the only one who plays 25+ mpg next season. So much depth!  :emawkid:

Will be really interesting to see the difference between the bigger lineups with Gip/Hurt/Bolden/DJamer at the 4 and 5, and the smaller lineups with Nino/Wes at the 4 and then one of the bigs at the 5.

When has Wes ever played the 4 this year?

We have 6 players (Gip, Hurt, DJamer, Bolden, Nino, recruit) for 2 spots in our frontcourt next year. We have six players (Jevon, Nigel, Foster, Harris, Wes, Edwards) for 3 spots in our backcourt, and I think Harris will probably redshirt. So, why do people want to move Wes to the 4????

We're going to win the Big 12 at least once with Foster.  Mark it down.
