the stats say they are not even

If we had won either the OSU or Baylor game there really wouldn't be any question. Then Waters was better against WVU and maybe Sams was slightly better against ISU. Waters hasn't thrown an INT in 5 games, both guys have fumbles in that time. YPP on Big 12 games is probably about even. No one has taken the job.

In fact, this week's _FANalysis will break down each player's numbers and play calls in Big 12 games only so we have tangible evidence to discuss. I'm certain the numbers will show that they have played about equal so far.

Are you going to factor for both good WRs absences?

Honestly who gives a crap, we're winning who cares how and why. It's always been a rebuilding year and going 9-4 is all the more sweeter knowing what we have next year

I think the whole issue is next year. This dual qb pergatory will probably bleed into next year.  Neither one will have had the benefit of ever going it on their own.

I care because I want to keep winning. The how and why are we just played WVU and ISU.

Sure, but we were in position to win both games and we didn't. Sams had 4 TOs against OSU and a key INT vs Baylor. I can't just write those off, nor have I written of Waters' mistakes. They are even.

I didn't mention Sams or Waters. I was just wondering if you were going to account for the absence of 2 of only 3 playmakers on the team.

Yes. Regardless we were in position to win both games, no matter the qb it was frustrating we didn't.

i understand that and I have been team sams since he stepped into campus but for the life of me I can't figure out why we are so hard on a juco qb and a red shirt sophomore. I've been a prick about waters but eff if we win I couldn't care less, I'm more concerned about our rb situation going into next year than I am qb

I'm pretty sure Waters has a higher ceiling than Sam's, guys.  Also, waters has proven himself a pretty good runner.

Likewise, Sams has proven himself a competent payear (although waters averages about 3x the yards per completion)

I like how when we get flat with one (which we do almost every game) which just switch and it's jump started.

FWIW, if anyone is victimized by play calling, its probably waters.  They run a lot of plays we shouldn't ever be running with him, particularly early in the year.

Sams has a higher YPA. And YPC. And completion percentage. And scoring percentage. And fewer turnovers. And aQBR. And he's younger. And he didn't make us lose to a D2 school.

SAMS HAD HIS CHANCE AGAINST THE TWO BEST TEAMS IN THE LEAGUE WITH OUR TWO BEST RECEIVERS OUT AND BLEW IT!!! I'M SORRY I CAN'T JUST GIVE HIM A FREE PASS.

Sams averages an interception every 11 atts. Waters ypc is 2 yards higher and their ypa are the same.  You're a liar face.

Saying we would have beat ndsu with sams is like saying we would have beat Baylor with waters.  Shut up.

With sams as the primary Qb our offense scored 22 points agaisnt osu and 25 points against the worst defense in the big 12.  We average 32 per game as a team.

Even with the two QB system Snyder has put together a pretty good offense this year. We currently average 6.26 yards per play, which is on pace to tie last year's team as Snyder's 2nd best YPP offense. However, (in large part because of turnovers) points per play is at .49, tied for 10th in the Snyder era.

We actually moved up from last place in TO margin in the league at -.75 per game.

Last is now Tech at -.78.

Think how good our O could be next year had Snyder let Sams run the show and get his lumps in this year. Instead, we'll just be what we are right now.

this.  which is why I don't care about the qb spot anymore.  when waters has the majority of snaps we had games we should have won and didn't - same with Sams.  IMO right now, they are both average, at best, qb's on an average, at best, team.

maybe through this year, spring ball, summer workouts and fall camp (and I suspect a few OOC games) we'll get one of them who becomes above average and finally quits rough ridin' up enough to make Bill make a final choice.

Worst defense in the big 12?  You've got to be joking.  Baylor has one of the best defenses in the league.
