If I'm wrong on this, I'll admit to being wrong.
I know this sounds kind of nutty given the fact that the old regime did very little if anything of significance to fill empty seats.
If K-State has sold about 12,000 season tickets than that leaves about 6-800 unsold seats per game. This is better than waiting around hoping for that many walk-ups because there probably isn't going to be that many walk-ups for a lot of those games.
Folks, nothing builds a resume for an AD like sold out sports venues.
You gotta think a little here.
