People who back into parking spaces

i read a really long article analyzing back in drive out parking that made it seem like a good idea.

supposed to use less energy.  because you idle and reverse with an efficient warm engine rather than a gas-guzzling cold engine.


it's mandatory at the site i work (in front of the main building only).  not related to above, supposedly for safety.

I don't know how much difference there would be fuel economy but the environmental benefit to being able to pull out of the parking spot and minimize the time car is running at idle before the catalytic converter is heated up could be significant.  The majority of pollutants created by modern vehicles occurs when they are first started.

THC, you should look into a career of parking lot and road design.  perhaps in your search for a new career you might keep an ear open for any summer internships in that field.  for a friend.

Did it today after over shooting a spot I had overlooked.  Must be a getting old thing.

Overshooting a spot is the only time I back in. I'm not going to back up and pull forwards like a total noob

I almost had a head-on collision with a lady who was pulling through a parking space to drive off (i.e. she was parked in the stall across) this weekend.
