I have some friends who don't own a microwave. They love bringing it up in conversation, because it shows how far above society they are. Completely unhurried or whatever. These are also my "acutally, we don't own a TV" friends.

Is this the new "we don't even own a tv"?

Harder to bring up and make it seem natural in conversations

SD, when melting cheese on potatoes, have you noticed that it takes longer to melt cheese?  Like, 65 or 70 seconds instead of 60?  If not, I am on #TeamNoBigDeal.  I mean, if your microwave was a bucket and it had a crack but still held water, you would still use that bucket, right?

They probably love it even more for that reason.  Challenge accepted, and stuff.

I've got to admit, warming up pizza in the oven (pizza hut box instructions) is much better than the microwave (don't like cold pizza).

Winter is coming.  A little extra heat in the house wouldn't hurt.

in all seriousness, no you should not use it if at all possible.

We had to replace ours last fall.    Most stores stock low end models, but if you want a nicer model most are special order.   We got a very nice convection model which has been great.

Just don't stand in front of it(unless you are timing your cheese melt time to see how much radiation your completely dangerous crack is letting out).   :dunno:

Dementia is a known side effect of exposure to microwave rays.  Just a matter of time before steve dave is #TeamSDS.com followed by Mrs. steve dave cracking jokes on twitter about steve dave's disappearance two weeks earlier.  T's & P's steve dave.

You should get one of those lead vests that hospitals use for X-Rays and just hang it in front of your microwave. As long as you stay on the other side of the vest while cooking, you should be fine.

steve dave i will take your microwave off your hands

It's that extra testicle that you have to watch out for.

Will take.
