it's not really like either. most of colorado springs is shiny and new boxes and chains, rather than dumpy and old boxes and chains.

metro area is almost exactly the same size as wichita

My first real job out of college was in Auburn, Alabama.  Decent town, but random dead people were consistently found off of I-85.  The fine toothless folks of Auburn blamed the thugs in Opelika, Alabama.  Also, drugs were dealt at the local Little Ceasars on College Street.  Rascals.

Started in Omaha, liked the city, didn't like the job. Now I live in Topeka, like the job, don't like the city

IDEA: move back but do a different job!

Move Back to Omaha but commute to Topeka. Boom! problem solved.

My first real job out of college was with a company called Pioneer Communications.  I graduated on a Saturday, moved in with one of my pledge brothers on Sunday, started work on Monday and quit on Tuesday.  I decided sales wasn't for me.  FTR, they're no longer in business so I think I made the right decision.  I spent the entire summer after graduation driving back and forth from KC to Manhattan, bartending at the Aggie Lounge on the weekends and interviewing during the week until I got my second real job.
