Also, we talk about all kinds of current happenings on this blog. Why set this aside? If you notice, I don't believe anyone made much mention of it for the first week and a half or so, giving it the respect most believe it deserves. The conversation really didn't get moving until it started getting known that it is pretty weird.

def weird. and this story isn't any more "real life" than any other crazy story on the internet.

I'm #TeamDave and will certainly report any maroon minivan sightings in KC, but this crazy, nonsensical story has me hooked. I've got to know what happened to this guy.

Also I think she kind of got knocked off any potential high horse when she made the Pelini joke. Like, no one would have thought about joking about her offing him before that tweet. If you look back, the thread was pretty respectful before that point.

And like you said, it is now officially super weird.

Agreed it seems really weird. And I don't mean to tuck out, but I don't think we should make fun of this situation. This blog has done some tremendously charitable things in the past and I think the efforts would be better focused on that. Now that doesn't mean we can't call weirdness when it appears weird. But when we don't know all the facts, and it possibly pertains to a disease/condition which makes things get REALLY weird, I think people should air on the side of caution.

I mean, I guess. The timing is still pretty strange. It's almost like there was a miscommunication between her and RCPD (2+ weeks ago). Like, they said, "don't do this all on your own" and she heard "do nothing" and then after the Pelini tweet people started asking questions and they got back together and RCPD was like, "um, you can reach out to media and stuff if you'd like", and she's all "oh, ok. Miss you, dave."

After two days she was tweeting she was giving up hope for a safe return and now she's reaching out to him directly? So rough ridin' weird. Also she knows he's hurting? It's like this thing is operating in reverse order.

It seems like, if he has mental/psychological issues, the longer it drags on the harder it would be for him to come back. After a couple days it wouldn't seem as huge of a deal but it's been a long time. Hopefully he can overcome that.

Exactly, which is why the media blitz starting over two weeks after he left is so friggin weird.

My wild speculation is that he had a tough time dealing with a recent diagnosis. Very sad. I hope for the best for all of them.
