lol at pete doing work in the "Next coach thread"

They are wallowing in misery about reasons why coaches wouldn't take the job (LHN, Need to be the face of a program, Recruiting etc etc). Pete basically tells them to STFU and start acting like Texas.

The 2 club seats at $99 per are pretty tempting. I just don't have enough time to go to Austin this weekend, though. :frown:

Edit: Looks like they are already gone, so never mind.

I think that there are many club seats to be had for less than $200.  The last time I looked anyway.

If Saban actually leaves Alabama it is because the NCAA is about to drop the hammer on them. That crap should be able to follow him to UT tho.

no. if he goes to texas it's because texas told him to. if he doesn't, it's because they passed.

Saban leaving Alabama for money.

He's making 5.7mil a year.  highest paid coach in the game.  Bama will continue to make him the highest paid coach.

Alabama is going to have to nearly double that if they want to keep him.

Texas seems to think they have a shot.

Key point in article:  A few days after Alabama won the 2013 national championship, a University of Texas regent and a former regent talked with Nick Saban's agent about the possibility of the Crimson Tide coach replacing Longhorns coach Mack Brown, The Associated Press has learned.

He'd go to TX for 5 flat if TX wanted him. We'll just have to see if they do.

Would be enjoyable.  But if anybody thinks Bama wouldn't double his salary to keep him, said person is bonkers.

Now, if UT wanted to pay him 100mil per year and make him the highest paid figure in all of sports history, then yeah, they'll prob snag him.

Hyperbole aside, I don't think he steps down from the SEC.  And if were talking 5mil more per year, while crazy high, I still see a football crazy school like Bama not even blinking at that.
