Who does Texas hire? Saban?
art briles

Briles and Patterson seem to be the front runners if the big shots(saban/harbaugh etc) say no. Charlie strong is getting some love too.

Also some rumors about gruden but I don't think TX needs to take a risk on a guy out of the game so long, briles or Patterson would win quickly at UT.

Gruden is not a risk.  That guy would come in and out-Saban Saban in the college football world.  I can't even imagine the amount of success he would have.  It's literally too much to even imagine.

That's debateable.  When you can not win your conference and get a second chance to play the team that already beat you this time in the national championship game, that's a pretty good job.  Like I said debateable, so even going with the Texas job is better argument, it's not that much better that would cause you to jump ship from Alabama.  Whatever Texas offered, Alabama would match.  Saban isn't going to Texas.

What does Texas Football has that Alabama Football doesn't? I can think of a lot of things that Alabama Football has that Texas Football doesn't.

Maybe my opinion is bias given I don't know a lot about the state of Alabama.  That said, Texas is growing faster than any other state in the nation, has an already huge pop, has a lot of money, and a large portion of that population would do whatever they could to their children to make them good at football.  Other than the growth thing, this may be applicable to Alabama too.

Alabama does have what is viewed as the better conference and is viewed as the pinnacle of athletics right now, but Texas is primed to match that quickly if someone like Saban took over, imo.

From a recruiting standpoint, Texas and Alabama are virtually equal. Both schools can have pretty much anyone they want and are only limited by the coaching staff's ability to evaluate talent. Texas is a better job because of the money and the prestige. I'm not sure if that is enough to pull somebody away from a job where he is already winning the national championship just about every year.

Saban leaving Bama for Texas is the equivalent of Frank leaving for S. Carolina.

Alabama recruits Florida and the entire south the way Texas recruits Texas and Oklahoma. Alabama and UT are not recruiting equals. Texas doesn't have the clout in Florida the way Alabama does in Texas.

Yeah, but a lot of guys don't want to deal with the LHN stuff.  They don't want open practices, they don't want all of the coach's corner type shows, etc.

Nick Saban would walk into the LHN studios on Day 1 with a bat, go HAM on it Joe Pesci style, and then never walk back in there.

You have to find a good coach that's comfortable in front of a camera.  That's why the Gruden idea is really intriguing.
